Rode again today. Still down to one cage. So, wife starts new job on Monday, I will HAVE to ride the bike to work, rain or shine. LOL.

Wow...seems like forever since I posted to this thread. I kinda lost track of it last year because I barely rode to work due to back problems. But so far this year, I've ridden to work about 10 times, including 3 outta 5 days this week.  cooldude

My house is about 450 ft above sea level. So even on clear days I am stuck with the cage. Don't like sparkly roads.  Sad

I rode to work in my mesh jacket this morning.  I believe that's either the first or second time this year for the mesh jacket commute.

OK, I've been in school for 5 weeks now, and let me say it is a lot of work. So I've been riding to work three times a week for the past 5 weeks, plus once for the remedial algebra. Amazing how much you brain forgets when you don't use something for 50+ years...

Ok I can finely join this thread! I work night shift, so I actually rode to work yesterday afternoon, just getting home now, it's 4am. I didn't ride my Valk, I rode my KLR instead. I had just done a service on it this past weekend and wanted to check it out, all is good. Plus, I like this bike too Smiley  Yesterday was beautiful up here in the High Desert, about 80 and a light wind, so I wore my mesh jacket on the ride in. On the way home was different story. I live at the top of the Cajon Pass on I-15, this time of year we can get some bad fog mornings, this was one of them. Nasty foggy on the way home, on the '"hill" as we call it. I had the liner for my jacket, and a nice flecce vest and my Hi-Viz vest over it all, so it wasn't too bad, as far as the cold went, just foggy and wet. If I ride in today, I may take my GoldWing. Lots of lights to be seen, heated grips, and a lot more weather protection. We'll see what the weather guesser says when I get up. Now I'm part of this thread.....Smiley Time for some sleep, night all.

Congrats on joining the ranks, Big Chris.

I rode in this morning.  Raced a storm to work (storm coming from the other direction).  We arrived at almost the same time, but I got indoors before it got serious.   cooldude

How many rode to work today?

I rode in.  I saw four roadkill deer along the 18 mile stretch of the flyway I ride.  It's been a while since I've seen more than one.  I wonder what's up with the increase.

Rode in all but one day last week.   40% chance of rain is outside of my comfortable riding parameters.  It has been in the low 80's in the mornings and about 95-98 on the way home.  Hope I don't have to stop many times on the way home.  Smiley

I've been home since the end of last semester. My day has been full of taking care of my daughter while my wife heads back to work. In the fall we'll both be going back to work full time. Today I get to head into work for the day to catch up on some paperwork and straighten out some electronic and PR requests.

I haven't been on the Valk since I had it inspected so it is about time to dust it off.

At the end of last semester I went home to take care of my daughter full time this summer. It's been a blast an worth every minute. Today is the first day I haven't been home all day with her since mid May or so.

While working away at my office desk, my little sister sent me a text and a picture. Today is the day my daughter decided to perfect rolling over on her own and do it over and over again. Figures.

Oh well.

I'm taking care of business and should be home with her another month before I have to come back. I'll enjoy the moments as they come.

It was nice dusting off the bike again this morning, but I don't mind not riding until mid-August again when the commuting starts back up.

Well this thread fell away for a while... Thought I'd bring her back to the top.

I have driven the cage to work, 1 day since the 1st of May.  That was a MONSOON day that I had to ride north to Lafayette for a meeting.  I didn't want to be soaked after 2 hours in a MONSOON for a meeting.

I know I know... I am a puss.

Almost drove a cage to work, I think it was last Monday. The wife's been driving my truck to work since it's the only vehicle we own with working air conditioning. When I started to leave it was raining and I decided to drive her van.

We've been keeping the cages parked in our field while the new shop is being constructed so I walked out there and discovered her van had a very low front tire. It hasn't been driven or started in at least a month and we just hadn't noticed. By the time I got the portable air tank charged and out to the van the rain turned to a sprinkle so I decided to ride the scooter after all.  Grin

There's supposed to be some thunder storms here this afternoon for my ride home but if it's not raining when I leave I'll be taking the bike. If it is raining I'll have to check the van's tire again.  Undecided

Weather has been a bit odd lately.  Weeks of higher than normal temps and then this week a front moves through and the bottom drops out.  Now, generally speaking, I ride the bike to work if it is 1. over 30 degrees, 2. Blue sky showing, and 3. The driveway is dry.  We've met those conditions a lot recently; especially the first one.  It's been one of the hottest summers in years around here.  My a/c has been working overtime and my electric bill will verify it.   Today is the 17th of August and it was 54 degrees when I went to work this morning.  Yesterday's high was 74 here in NW Missouri.  Does this strike anyone else as odd?   I'm loving it, but it bothers me a bit.  It's great that I can ride with ATGATT and be comfortable and cool and hope it stays like this until November.  Wonder what winter will be like. It will probably be 90 degrees again in a week or so also, but enjoying it while I can.
