Took the long way home today. 72 deg. and wonderful. Rain threatened, but never produced more than a sprinkle. Wore the summer gloves both ways 2 out of 3 days this week. BJ and I are off of work tomorrow. Might be a trip to Galveston in order. Woohoo!!! Hay Jimmyt

Mid 40s here in NE Ohio snow on the lawns but roads are clear looks like I'll be riding for the next 4-5 days at least. Forecast looks good.

Been a bit cool on the ride to work this week, 34-36, but the ride home has been great. With upper 50's and low 60's you can't beat it for a January afternoon in NW Missouri. Even ran up to Clarinda, IA for dinner last night. Needed the leather for the ride home, but it was still a good time. 41 degrees in the dark feels much colder than in the daytime. Next time I may have to put on a long sleeve shirt under the jacket.

Yesterday and today rode to work, tomorrow will make three in a row. Early mornings before the sun and much traffic. Like Willow, I used the summer gloves for the ride home, middle 60s this afternoon.
50's today, clear and good riding. Forecast says snow this Saturday in Denver. I'll hide and watch. Cheers

Rode to work this morning. 34 when I left the house, 55 on the way home this afternoon. 15 miles on the way to work, can't figure out how I got 75 on the way home......Maybe I'm directionally challenged

I'm finally riding to work again. Luckily, after my month hiatus, this morning was 50 degrees and comfy. I had to leave well before sun up, on slightly rain slicked roads, but I made it without incident. I think I'll be able to enjoy the ride home.
My new helmet is snug but it will break in.
It is good to be back at work. It is better to be back commuting on my Valk.
Ride to work, work to ride!

Man, you got to love this weather.
It's January in Indiana and I'm riding to work again. 30 degrees when I left at 5:30 this morning. Really nice 50 something when I rode home this afternoon and it looks like the riding weather will hold through tomorrow. SWEET!!!

Having not ridden in a while, the cool rain on a warm morning is still riding. Commuting is better than not riding so I'll take it.
This morning was a misty rain that was not quite heavy but was even more annoying. My helmet fogged. My glasses fogged. Headlights blurred and made the road disappear. I finally found my way off the road into a parking lot about mid-commute. I pulled off my glasses and wiped them on a bit of dry sweater vest and began again. Every little bit helps. The rest of the ride was fine.
Ride to commute and commute to ride.

Yesterday was the last good riding day here for a while I think. I didn't ride though, I had that "might hit a deer this morning" feeling so I drove the truck. Two crossed the road close in front of me about 200 yards apart which is about the morning norm. Guess I coulda ridden but I try to never ignore that uneasy feeling. Think it's saved my bacon a time or two.

All in all it has been a fine week, but perhaps because I've only worked one day this week thus far. Oh well. Short weeks can sometimes be longer than long weeks.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

Burrrrrr! Was barely in the mid 40's when I left to work this morning, but I toughed it out and rode anyway... Was a nice ride in, but the ride home in the mid 60's was really nice! Come on spring! This cold stuff is for yankees!

Guess I coulda ridden but I try to never ignore that uneasy feeling. Think it's saved my bacon a time or two. You should not ignore that tingle. B.S. and superstition.I respectfully disagree, although I agree completely. Perhaps sixth sense is B.S. and superstition, but that tingle can kill you. Riding aware is the best way to ride, but that tingle can keep you from riding aware. It seems like it should make you aware, but it can make you paranoid and unaware. If the tingle keeps you from being able to assess what is happening around you then it can kill you. Thus it should not be ignored. If you can't keep your mind on the ride, then it isn't where you need to be. Cages are more forgiving of mistakes. Thus, I agree and disagree. I'm as guilty as anyone to keep my work life or daily routine packed along for the ride. Sometimes riding just can't escape what I think needs to be thought about in favor of thinking about what is at hand. Especially commuting, I have to try to stay aware in the cold, rain, and ever present life situations. I do try to stay alert when riding. When I'm tingling and cannot focus on the ride at hand it is time to stay home.

This cold stuff is for yankees! Ours is hovering around a warm 40s but the rain and fog make it cooler than in the morning than in the afternoons. I'm still trying to adjust riding home with the sun shining. I can get used to this.

I rode to the possibility of work today! Had an interview and there will be a test in a week, so I took a ride to make sure I knew exactly where it was. School plans are still going forward, lots of folks looking for these jobs. I do well with tests, though, so maybe this will turn out to be my first ride to work, time will tell.

Forty degrees (F) when I left for work this morning. I was expecting 35 so I had to go back and change my apparel. I wore my cool weather gloves and left the visor up on my winter hat most of the way. Honestly, it was probably a couple of notches lower than what would have justified that behavior.
Expecting near sixty for the ride home.

Was 35° when I left the house for the 44-mile ride and is 68° now. If it doesn't drop much in the next hour it's gonna be a beautiful trek home.

Burrrr! It was only 62 when I left this morning. I was getting ready to get into the car, but then I thought of all you poor yankees that are snowed in, so I put my heavy liner into my jacket and dug out my arctic riding gloves, steeled my resolve, mounted up, and rode the Valkyrie in for my 40 mile commute in to work. No need to thank me, I know ya'll would do the same for me if our situation was reversed!

I think that sounds like a great risk worth taking. Even if both happen, 70 and raining, it will still be a nice ride. I took the long way home yesterday. If it hits 70 again today I imagine I'll do the same.

40% chance of rain today chased me off the bike and into the BWD. MP, I ride to werk even when it's hot, but have to undress soon after arriving at home, or my clothes are soaked with sweat. It's 74 Deg F outside right now and not THAT many clouds. Danged weather guessers! Hay Jimmyt

Yesterday it was 20 degrees when I left the house. The local weather people were calling for afternoon showers and possible snow fall without accumulation. It was a chilly but dry ride both ways yesterday. This morning I awoke to 39 degrees and still dry. I can live with that. We need winter to kill the summer pests, but so far this has been an easy riding winter.
