Heck, I ride a girl bike every day. Raymond, I see that you were born three years before my mother! I hope the impending century celebration is a reflection of that milestone, and that you are able to ride to work on that day, also. Three for three, although since there was a question about what you ride to work, I may have to 'fess up that I have been riding the quarter Valk with cheese, otherwise known as a Yamaha (Her) Majesty, because the Valk trike has been in one shop or another since the New York Powwow. It's coming home on Saturday with all speakers blaring. In a way I'm glad, because riding in the rain with a light weight two wheeler has made me a more careful rider. I can't leave the purse on the bike, it has all the stuff I need after getting off the bike. There's a lot of fixing that has to take place before I'm presentable in a corporate kind of way. Retirement is looking better every day!

Well I did ride today so I'm legal here. Karen I must say I have never left my purse on the bike, in fact I gave it to Willow last year and have no idea wo he's passed it on to now.

As far as the fixing to be corporate presentable, I've been too afraid to ask about your lovely hair in your avatar but since you brought it up.......WTH??

Have a nice day, today is Friday so I'm outta this thread for a week or so.

Have  a great trip, Raymond, Today is four for four. It's not hair, it's the most beautiful purplish feathers attached to a bird-like mask which I found at Home Goods, and which also looks a heck of a lot better than I do. Think of it as combat makeup...

Had to drive the cage one day this week so I could pickup propane for the fork truck at work. It's been all "scooter time" cept for that. Fog and critters in the fields in the mornings and not much traffic on the way home. Been a great week for ridin' to work but I'm still glad it's Friday.

OK, it;s an old lady bike, but at least I'm riding. it was a one way trip on Tuesday, the front of the trike's drive shaft let go on the highway on the way to work at speed in the left hand lane, but I was able to get it over 4 lanes into the breakdown lane & call AMA tow. So it's back to the Majesty again (sigh). Guess that makes it 4 & 1/2 for 5, but I'll ride to work on Sunday, so I'm going to take a full five for this week. Ride safe!

I think I rode every day this week, I rode today...

On Wednesday, it looked like a bad storm on the way home, but I got mostly there and no rain...
so I got cocky, and kept going to the grocery store. Well, when I came out of the store
and was loading up my saddlebag it was clear that I was doomed. I tried to ride around it,
but when I turned down through the center of old Seneca, it was coming from there too.
Dark solid wall of water. I was near the Suzuki shop, so I ducked in there and shot the
breeze with them while the storm passed - a real gully washer...

Well, I am 3.5 for 5 this week.  I drove the Jeep on Wednesday because I wanted to run to Lowes after work to pick up a few things that wouldn't fit on the bike...and I don't have a Harbor Freight trailer, yet.  Besides that, it was raining pretty good anyways.  And then, yesterday, they were calling for all these massive storms and it looked really ugly out when I was leaving, so I took the Jeep.  But by lunch time, the sun was out.  So I ran home for lunch and grabbed the bike for the afternoon.  I'm really being careful though because my back tire is really shot so I am keeping a close eye on it for any cords to show up.  I got a new darkside tire waiting to be mounted though...if I could ever get enough time to do it.  We're headed out of town this weekend, so the new tire will have to wait until next week.

I wrapped up my college classes a few weeks ago and have been kicking around the house taking care of things before the summer finished and the school year started back up.

Last Wed, Thur, and Friday I hopped onto the bike and headed to the community college for a series of meetings and paperwork each day. That let me know that the summer is over.  In the morning I'll saddle up and ride to work on the first day of school at the Catholic College and Community College both.

I'm going to start riding to work again in the morning! Another exciting day.

This morning the surrounding counties started back to school so school buses hit the road and changed traffic. I left early to account for that. I waved at children standing by bus stops.  I didn't actually get held up by buses so that was nice.  The weather was great. 70 degrees with a cool dewey mist in the low spots.

I love riding to work.

Today was a great day to ride and the designated motorcycle parking was packed. The young man beside of me was on a Shadow. He asked some questions about the Valk. He knew my name, because his girlfriend knew who the Valk belonged to. Apparently word gets around about the biker professor.

Well, last night I tore my bike apart to change the rear tire.  I didn't get it back together yet, so I couldn't ride the Valk to work today.  So...no problem...my dad's Wing is parked in my garage right next to my bike so I'll just take that.  Unfortunately, it's been sitting for over a month so the battery was low and it wouldn't start.  So I had to take the Jeep.  But I did put the battery tender on it before I left.  When I went home for lunch, it fired right up.  So it is now sitting outside my office window...I just hope it starts back up at 5pm when it's time to go home!  Cheesy  So I guess that makes 1.5 for 2 so far this week.  Hopefully the Valk will be back in commission tonight.

It was perfect riding weather on the way home, but there was a lot of wildlife in the air.

A fair amount of it turned into wilddeath. Gotta go wash my face now.

This morning I stood on my front porch propped against a post and just enjoyed the beginning of the day.  I could hear my wife behind me frantically running around trying to get ready to go to work.  She's having a big day and was a little more nervous than most mornings.  I just stood and gazed at the day across the front yard.

When the house was locked up and we were moving forward toward the day ahead I was excited.  She dropped me off up the hill by my bike as I finished the apple that I was eating. I hopped on the motorcycle and backed out of the shed as I cranked the bike up.  I pointed the bike down the hill and toward the road.

As soon as I touched the wheels to the asphalt the rain touched down upon my bare arm.

It was a quick drizzle and I quickly rode out from under the cloud and dried out before I reached work.

The ride home was good too-I took a little longer way than usual.  Work in between the rides was work with ups and downs, but today made five days of going to work this week so it was a good week.

The temps moderated a bit here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area today, Friday, August 28; so we rode in.  It was quite pleasant, save for the traffic.

We trudge on.

I left the house this morning and it was in the 60s.  We're going to have a cool snap with a chance of rain. It had rained a little overnight leaving the ground/roads damp and generally making for some great sleeping weather.

When I left the skies were dark, but I left early.

I ran through a little drizzle and some low lying cloud spit but nothing exceedingly wet.

I made it to the first job. I"ll be here until 12:00ish, then I'll have a hole in my day until 5:30. I have to decide what to do with the hole. May not be the best riding weather. I do try to atleast look dry when I get to work.

I know I should wear a jacket even on the hot days because it is safer...but mornings like today make it easier to wrap up. Should be a nice cool morning ride in.
Hump day is here. I wonder if anything remarkable will happen today?

I've been riding all week - and wearing my jacket - morning temps have been mid to upper 50's at my place. Strange for this time of year but it has been keeping the bugs down a little. Normal lows this time of year are low 70's to low 80's. Couldn't ride last week as I was installing another final drive and tires - and I couldn't find my o-rings for the rear end. Had to order some more and waiting for them
was killing me. Gonna make up for it this week and week end though. May take a trip some where this week end - just got  to think of where to go?

It's been cold here in the mornings with temps in the low 40's.  It was actually 39 this morning according to the news.  So I've been needing my leather jacket rather than the Mesh.  But I'm 3 for 3 on the bike this week, and Thursday and Friday are looking good too! cooldude

looked good at 2300 hrs when I rode in, came home at 0700 in a driving rain and thunderstorm.  The IS kept me from drowning, it really has good  protection from the rain, wasn't cold, so it was very doable.  Hoser

OK, I rode to my gig Sunday, rode to work on Monday and to the gig on Monday night, and rode to work on Tuesday. Apparently time is having its way with me; after 18 hours of wandering around Boston's North End with a tenor sax hanging around my neck playing at anything that moved, and going to work to 2 days to boot, this morning I was toast. I DID NOT RIDE TO WORK TODAY. I enjoyed a morning nap followed by a leisurely cage ride to my friendly trike mechanic, and rode the trike home. I'll ride to work tomorrow with subwoofer thumping! Life is good! Thanks, Oss, it's good to be back on a Valk!
