I was at the Chick-fil-a on the south side of Fayetteville, GA and this young lady, Ellen, commented on the flag on my debit card. I told her I had rather it be a Battle Jack and that numerous of my ancestors were buried in the city cemetary and had battle jacks marking their gravesites and that I'm an un-reconstructed Southron. She smiled and the told me that Robert E Lee was her great-great grandfather. She shared briefly some family history, who married who and where they moved to, etc.

That's quite a trick considering Earp never had kids.  Maybe the guy was the grandson of one of the brothers.

My great grandmother was a grand niece of Sam Houston, or so the family story goes, don't know if it's true or not, but her Maiden name was Houston. I remember her from when I was really young in the early 50's  ???  Hoser

I've traced my family back to the 1300s.  They were favorites in the King's court in England, then did something stupid and got run out the country .  They went to France, became favorites again and again did something stupid, so they were thrown out and ended up in Germany.

I continue to follow the traditions of the family by being thrown out of all sorts of groups....... uglystupid2

In high school one of my cronies was Jim Crapper, direct decendent of Thomas A. Crapper who perfected the flush toilet.

According to family folklore told at gatherings in my youngin days.........and some stories I find hard to believe............on my Dad's side there is a distant relation to the outlaws Ma Barker & Sons.

On my Mother's side, her Uncle rode with Bonnie & Clyde!!

I probably should add the Uncle was hitchhiking somewhere in KS, was picked up by a couple, he got in the back seat and during the ride noticed weapons (machine guns?) under the front seat. Only after they dropped him off did he later learn somewhere on down the road a crime was committed by B & C. He surmised it was the couple that gave him a ride.

I have no idea if either story is true. I only know that other relatives have always held to the stories and I've never forgot them. Cool

Was that Wyatt over here in Pampa? I worked with his mother, and I taught with his wife for a number of years. His daughter still teaches here. cooldude

I did some geneology work and did find that there is an Andrew Jackson in the bloodline.  But like all famous people, lots of folks were named after them.

Yes, Wyatt's family are some of the best people I have ever know.

I could be wrong about being directly related to Wyatt Earp, could have been one of his brothers. Definately in that particular family.  I know they keep Wyatt going in the family.  IIRC the Wyatt I know named his son Jay Wyatt.

....and that is exactly how we continue to get thrown out of groups.   Evil

BTW, I have been to Norman and watched the Ags get their butts kicked there. More than once. The fans were wonderful - they stayed in their seats at halftime to watch the Aggie Band.  Class act. That's why I'm wanting to see if the Ags can repeat the win from 2010 they had at Kyle in Norman on OU's home turf - that would be something. cooldude

My daughter was in a Ron Jeremy movie once...

Yes, seriously...

But not one of THOSE kind of Ron Jeremy movies (Obviously).

She was 5 or 6 at the time...

Gary Coleman was in this one too...

We have a winner! Hilarious movie, but she won't get to see it for another decade or two! (She (And the spousal unit) were extras in the scene in the nice neighborhood where they were selling ladders and t-shirt cannons. We haven't been able to see them though in the final cut. I think we're glad about that! Wink )

Something happens at Kyle field. There is a transformation that happens after graduation.  Because both my sons hated going to Kyle field, the student section always stood up and turned thier backs to our band. BUT, my oldest has had great conversations with A&M alums while waiting for traffic to clear after the game. Even when we beat them there.
Both boys say the best trip the band made was to Ohio.  The fans and students were friendly and treated them with respect. They even received a standing ovation at half time and lots of handshakes after the butt whooping they gave us.  Made the band feel truly welcome.  Treat my boys right and you have my respect.
