I am in the process of changing my saddlebags to Interstate hard bags. The bags I bought do not have the lock/latch or key.  Is there a good place other than the dealership to try and purchase these items?

Thanks,

Mike

I think you'd need all five parts, times two.
(If ordering from HDL, ask if you get a key or two, I don't see any in the schematic)(and ask for the same key for both latches)(though you may choose to go to a lock and key outfit and get them re-keyed to your existing ignition key anyway)

You could try Pinwall Cycle for used parts, but wonder if they'd have them separate from bags.

Pinwall is who I just bought the bags from, and they had removed the latches and do not have any for sale Sad

I will wait for the bags to arrive to make sure they don't have any surprises, then call HDL.

Thanks!

each lockset comes with a key, so unless you want two different keys you need to coordinate with the dealer for the same key set as well.  If you have another interstate piece you want to match or a tourer piece get the key number from those to match.  I've purchased parts and rekeyed them myself to match the ignition key where possible.  I still have a different set of keys for my bags.  the keys from my bike wouldn't fit because there are two different blanks for standards, tourers and interstates.

At times, there are complete key/lock sets for sale on ebay.  Could change them ALL over.

I got the whole lock set, for a Tourer, from HDL a couple of years ago... about $125
as best as I can remember...
