Hi, here's my POV, sans actually owning or testing the "Aqua Air", compared to an "AirHawk" all air cushion.

I don't like gel cushions [too firm & no real-world butt conforming attributes] and would think the AA without added air would be somewhat similar to a gel in as much as air compresses & and fluid does not. Apparently [unless I missed something], the AA is one big bladder and if you add air, as is possible, the water is going to slosh around when used on a bike.

The AH is strictly air and is multi-chambered so as your weight shifts, as in a curve, the air chambers self adjust. There is a very slight delay as the air chambers self adjust, but is quickly acclimated to.

I carry my AH on long trips and don't use it unless my bum or lower back begin to anguish. I don't even strap it down to the seat, however, if you stand up on the pegs above 20 mph you could loose it.

In the past year or so I've been using the AH on my office chair. Since I can spend as much 16 hrs. in that chair coding software, the Air  Hawk has come in very handy. My chair was comfortable in the beginning, but I would become terribly unable to work that long without it. A water bladder [nor a gel] wouldn't have faired as well or as long. IMHO
Maybe the AA single water bladder would be OK in the desk chair with added air, but on a bike I imagine you could feel the water sloshing around.

This is solely my perceived opinion of the "Aqua Air".

The "Air Hawk" cost runs about 20% more in comparison.

A+ on the Airhawk (Driver's Medium).

The only time I don't use it is for coldest riding*, even with Ultimates  (*well padded cold gear, no sweaty bottom at those temps, 1/2" lower in the seat behind the fairing.)

I have posted on it here so many times, I sound like a broken record.  I concur with yours.  And would only add, I'd worry about a single bladder airbag moving under hard braking or bad bumps. Does it stick to the seat like a rubber bottom (cover) Airhawk??

Best Price.

On a sidenote, how do these compare to the sheepskin covers from Alaska Leathers?  I just put the sheepskin put on my Ultimate seat and tripled my seat time before monkey butt. How do the 2 compare?  Does anyone use both?

I would prefer to ride on a conforming air cushion as opposed to matted down fur that does nothing except maybe allow you to think it's cooler, well I guess it would be cooler then sitting on vinyl or leather.
If ya like the sheep skin, why not put an AirHawk under it.

I tried about sixty miles on an Air Hawk.  I hated it.  It rested in the trunk for the rest of that 500 mile ride.

I've never tried the Aqua Aire, but I'm sure I'd have a similar impression.  I find the Ultimate saddle is adequate for me.

This is what I do on long trips.  I put the sheep skin on (Ultimate Big Boy) and under that I put a section of............bubble wrap.   Cheesy  Yep, get it at Walmart or Staples.  I have the 1" diameter bubbles.  It's cheap and Works.  Cool

I am in Houston.  Hoping maybe to hook up with you folks and Magoo for the ride to Tucumcari.

I have an Air Hawk I no longer use.  I am willing to bring it along and let you try it before investing.  I currently use a sheepskin mounted OVER a bead seat which I personally like even better.

I have loaned both to different individuals to try out in the past.  Some like and some hate.

It really depends on what works for YOUR backside.

If we hook up, willing to let you try both for a tank or two of gas.  (NOT charging you a tank or two, but letting you ride on them for a tank or two).

Leaving tomorrow morning for Cheaha with Phyllis (Lyn-Del) and Duane (Wizard).

Thank you!  Yes, I would like to try them both.  I'll give Beekeeper your number (if he doesn't have it already).  Warlock and Coolbreeze are also riding with us.  We would love to hook up with you somewhere.   cooldude
