I am turning my Valk into a three wheeler.  Question regarding raked triple trees from someone riding them----I see most kits offer a 4 1/2 degree rake and I have been told that is not enough on a Valk.  I should use 6 or 8 degree.  What have you found and where do you purchase them?  Thanks

I triked my '99 I/S and have almost 30K on it.  I have an 8* tree from Daryl at VTXtreme.   http://www.xf6-custom.com/valkpartspage.html  He is a sponsor here and very good to work with regarding customer service and install.  I am very happy with it.  Steering effort is very low, not the least bit "twichy" on the straight roads and runs the twisties pretty much as fast as I want to go.  You should also go here:  http://www.triketalk.com/forum/honda-trikes/  and read about the subject.  Lots of opinions about the subject.  Stan

I helped on a build useing Cal sidecar kit.
Goody and I found that you will need good
sholders and arms without 6 Deg of rake .
So I think all here will tell you go with 6
Deg for your convertion.

Yep that.

We just did a conversion of an 03 Standard to a California Sidecar Trike for my wife. Mulled the 6° vs 8°; never even considered not raking or anything less than 6°. After talking to Daryl and then Old Grouch we went with an 8°. She is very happy with it in all aspects, from the twisties to high-speed straights (highway). It offers great handling and stability.

And... I would NEVER consider anyone else but Daryl at F6customs for a triple tree... he is quality people with a quality product!

Hi i have a 99 interstate trike --mine is raked 8 degrees --i love it -it rides smooth -weather your in the twistes or on the straight road it is great -- i was told the valk need more than a 6 degree rake because of the size of the front end --i think a 6 would work great but i would go with a 8 on a valk. plus i love the way it looks ! ! !  in photo you can see the rake !! Everywhere i go people come to look at the trike --most  think its a car motor on it but even harley riders look and say nice bike -- GOOD LUCK !!

Increasing the rake of the forks will result in a lower front end and the motor closer to the road.

Yep...

You will need fork extensions... I used 2 inch. Daryl will give you the right advice, no worries
