do you see that big ant in the background...the big brown one behind the track? Barbers has all these sculptures in bronze all over the track area. Giant ants....some have motorcyles....dummy riders....in their jaws. they are huge. there is a statue of a man coming out of a manhole. Some real interesting art!

The place is so huge...they have a tram running all weekend for the traces. OK, like 9 or 10 trams. so you can ride all over the park and not have to worry about riding your bike. We'll issue you a map in your packet....with the whole layout of the park....tram pick ups points...etc.

there will be SPECIAL parking for the VRCC at BOTH the museum and the race area. We are parking in the race area right next to the vendors. VIP parking....just for us!

There is an earlier race...that MAY start before we get there (times are subject to change...and controled somewhat by the AMA and their sked). The big race starts in the afternoon...while we are there. BUT IF ...you want to catch ALL of that earlier race...depending on WHEN it starts (may start at 1000....may start at 1100?)...you MAY need to go in a group by yourself... before our "formal" groups. I looked into what time to depart...and decided on 930 for SEVERAL reasons.

First, they don't have the start times on races firm yet. it may slip to after we get there? Second, to get there by 1100....we have to leave by 930. To get there by 1000....we'd have to leave at 830. to get there in time for you to be in place for a 1000 race...IF it did start at 1000...we'd have to leave by 800 at the latest. I'm not even sure when the restaurant opens....but...i can't see trying to get all of us thru breakfast and ready to go by 0800! Plus, there is usually heavy fog up top in the mornings. better to wait and let it burn off...than take a large group in the fog. AND MOST IMPORTANT FOR HALF OF US....and i'm in this group.....HALF OF US CONSUME WAY TOO MUCH ALCOHOL AND STAY UP WAY TOO LATE PARTYING AT THE BIG PARTY AT GROUND ZERO....to be waking up early enough to even think about leaving at 0800  Cheesy

So....once the times are published...if you think you might want to catch the earlier race also....you might want to form up your own early bird group....fight the fog....skip breakfast....get up early....and consume less Friday night ...and depart earlier than our main groups ?  cooldude
