I was looking into getting a Clearview windshield for my 97 standard. The web site says the windshield works with the Hondaline brackets. Do I order the brackets through a Honda dealer or is there someplace else I can purchase them?

You are probably going to want to find a used Hondaline windshield as ordering the hardware from Honda piecemeal will be very expensive.

I might not have any choice. I have a Hondaline windshield hanging in my garage. It came with the bike when i bought it. It is very cloudy and starting to get spider cracks in it, so no go on that shield. I t didn't come with any mounting hardware. If I want to put a Clearview on my standard, and I do, I need the Honda brackets.  Anyone have hardware they want to sell?

BigChris,

I swapped out the memphis that came on my bike for a Hondaline for the better wind control. I bought the shield hardware from Momz, but he couldn't find all of the clamp mount parts. I ordered the KewlMetal mounts and really like how it looks. When the shield is off, there is just a bit of chrome showing, instead of the big clamps. And it has extra mount points for the turn signals and extra lights, which I really needed because I also took off the cobra lightbar that came with the bike (dang Gulf Coast Salt air), and I had no signal mount clamps either.

http://www.kewlmetalstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=9_102&products_id=161

I also ordered the signal standoffs and mounted the factory signals on the lower holes. Since the original owner had stripped the threads on the signal's moutns, I used hanger bolts (wood thread one end, machine on the other end), into the plastic, then nuts to mount the signals and the standoffs.

I can get pics of it shortly, making a little OT today.  cooldude

OK, got home and took some pics.

Looking from the front, can see part of the signal mount. Nylock nut on the machine screw end of the hanger bolt.

From the back, can see the standoff and the tabs the windshield mounts to.

When the shield is off, all you see on each side is two tabs with two holes in each (and the turn signals). From the front there are just two chrome bars behind the headlight.

PM if you would like me to email the full size pics.
