I bought my bike with 6in6 cobras on and the previous owner said it was jetted.
Can stock pipes be put on without re-jetting? Any negative effects expected?
Thx

If he jetted it, probably all he did was add adjustable slides.    Put stock pipes on it and run the snot out of it.

It probably won't make a nickles worth of differemce.

It it is adjustable slides, all ya got to do is take the slide tops off and adjust the little 'e' ring up or down one or take washers out of the bottom of the hole.

Be careful ya don't tear a rubber gasket.

I'd just ride it afterwards and not worry about the jets.

Worry makes ulcers. and we got enuf around here with them.  LOL. tickedoff

RJ has it right...unless ya head into the mountains. If they re-jetted there's a good chance ya might have after-market needles, too. If ya get high up and the carbs start getting fouled you might hafta drop the needles. We had to do that when we got to Colorado in '06 (Thanks again to John Horton for showing us how) Not a hard job...just a minor PITA. (and it's embarrassing when your bad-ass Valk is getting passed by semi's and granny sedans while you're going up the hills trying to figure out wth is going on with your heretofore bullet-proof drive train.  uglystupid2

Thanks guys. I like my cobras, but everything I'm reading about "the man" & inspections ... Who knows. I know the little woman would appreciate less rumble.  Sad

Not trying to hi jack here but you might want to just cut the piggies off after removing the tips of the stock exhaust. One of the main reasons I chose the dragon over a wing (previously owned) is I wanted a motorcycle that looked like a motorcycle. Some people like super quiet but I've run equipment all my life ( wore out farmer) and like to hear my machine working. Probably why my hearing ain't what it used to be  uglystupid2. I like the sound and Momma doesn't complain when she decides to hop on. Just leave 3/4 " or so in case I steered you wrong you can tack them back on.  Blister

MOst bikes in America are too lean anyway from the factory.

If anything putting the stock pipes on should actually give you more power than you have now.

Jetting should not matter.

These bikes are not that sensitive to jetting.

Especially to only a exhaust change, now open the air box up with mods and you will most likely have rideability issues.

Ride the thing, if you have rideability issues, you may have to rejet, but I would bet 2$ you won't even notice a difference,.

Rideability issues would include slow throttle response, to blubbering off idle.
