Being laid up in a word, "sucks". Looking at this beautiful NY Spring weather and the Bike in the garage is covered by the "word" . The fracture of the Fibula is healing up real good. They are watching a blood clot and I had a ultrasound or two. I am going for a MRI on Wednesday and I am a little annoyed they waited a month to do it because if I need to get it fixed, that's that much time under the bridge to get it healed up. I certainly hope that I don't need anything done to me knee.
It is tough being dependent on every buddy else for almost everything you know? But I got to say every one has been great. Patty Ann has been the bestest nurse ever! Being married 33 years she has put up with a bit. I definitely married up! Took a ride to the local Harley dealer, O'Tools in Wurtsboro and he picked up a sissy bar. I know the guys up there for a long time and the boys were so contrite I was banged up. I got to say the Owner had a 120 C.I. Screaming Eagle custom whatever what a beautiful Bike OMG I could not believe the cost. My buddy who I grew up with whispered his estimate of the cost, 35- 45 large.  It is absolutluy beautiful but way too much.
I don't think I will replace the air horn put go with the Big BF quad horn. They would be hard to break off huh?
I noticed on Evan's (Oss) interstate there are Chrome Guard's underneath the Hard Bags. Are they stock? Would they fit on a '97 Standard? They might have saved me a little grief.
Well thanks for listening, Peace.

Hey Bonzo  Nice talking with you today,

I will check in the basement tomorrow for you on the rear guards

A year or three ago I bought the back end of a 2000 blue and silver interstate from an 80 yr old man who was triking the Valk. Got the frame for the bags, bags, a rear wheel, chrome bag rails and some other doo dads like I think an extra kickstand and bank sensor?

If you want the hardare for the bags let me know. I aint sellin the bags though, got them in case I go boom one day and need new bags

G-man is coming over at noon tomorrow. There is some noises coming from in front that I hope is just the brakes either dirty or needing replacing and I will clean and change the brakes while he supervises.

Keep up the healing and we will be riding Hawks Nest before you know it

Good to see you post, Bonzo, sorry about the clot, but glad the rest is healing OK. if it's any comfort, it looks like rain here for the next week, so I won't be riding either. Glad you are being taken good care of, hope to see you on a ride before the end of the season, take care!

Well I sure learned some things today.

Like how to smack my left knee on the air scoop and how to push the pistons in before I take the calipers off. The first one took forever the 2nd one took five minutes

Then naturally after I am all done, Gman comes over to offer how he changes the brakes without removing the calipers   Shocked

Next up, the rear brakes which are still original at 67000 miles.

Sun looks like it is trying to come out and rain stopped for a spell but I put away a bunch of Glenlivet at the engagement party and wont ride today even up the street to see how the brakes set.

Sugerbear, The fracture was up by the knee, so no boot or cast.  MRI tomorrow to check the knee out. I really need to get back on two wheels (or walk up the block)!
