Howdy!  So after riding my buddy's interstate around for a couple of weeks I am exploring ideas for installing a radio.  This what I found I missed the most when going back to my tourer.  So if anyone has done this before and has found a setup that really works, could you please share it with me?  Pics are also a great help! cooldude

THANKS!

I have installed a couple of different systems on bikes.  Have used the 200 amp systems with the speakers that mount on handle bars. No bad but hard to hear at speeds.  I tried useing a mp3 with ear buds. Again you can't hear them at highway speed.   The best way I have found and I now have on Valkyrie and my wife Shadow is a J&M JMCB 2003.  It gives you an intercom system, weather radio, cb, and aux imput for a MP3 or a fm radio.  I use a Sony walkman am/fm.  It is digital and the size of a pack of cigarettes.  Works great!!!

I'm going to mount my IS trunk onto my ACE Tourer, install speakers in the rear pods and a stero with a remote in the truck. Should still have room for items/1 helmet.

Wilf will still have the backrest she likes too.

I heard that Honda makes a speaker and tuner kit for VTX.  Has anyone seen or heard this?  Can't seem to find anything about it.

I've seen one mounted on a VTX.  Looks a little different.....sounded just OK to me, but I only heard it for a couple seconds or so and I have no real experience with one.....just saw one on a VTX at a poker run and asked about it.  It didn't impress me much.  The way it was mounted, it'd get in the way of seeing your gauges anyway.

Before thinking about adding a fairing, I was thinking of going with a Kury speaker system and using an mp3 player.  I've got an mp3 that has an FM radio built in (Sony Walkman 8gb) so I was thinking about going that route.

However, I've since decided to go with a fairing with speakers and radio built-in.  I've got a Woody's fairing on order and I'll install my own stero in it prior to mounting in on the bike whenever it gets here.  Currently about a 2 month wait for a Woody though.

Woody is a VRCC supporter and runs ads on this site.  He builds Valkyrie specific fairings just for the Valk.  Give him a call.....he's good people.

I might not give the answer that you want me to
