I love my bike, but the fuel shut off system is the cheapest piece of $%@# I"ve ever seen. Direct line has a pingel power flo part #1311-ch. Is this the one I want ? If so any tips on install would be appreciated.  Like getting those little hoses reattached, when I can barly get my hands in there ?                                                                                                                                       Thank you vrcc 2838

That's the one you want. Here's the cheapest place I found it:

http://www.easternperformance.com/products.php?product=Pingel-Hex-Chrome-90-Degree-Forward-Petcock-for-Harley

Had the tank off already so installation was a breeze. Shut down the vacuum line from cylinder #6. Stock Pingle will only give you 1/2 gallon reserve.  Shocked You can extend the tube by soldering on a 1 3/4" extension (I used a piece of the stock pipe from the OEM petcock) to get it back up to 1 gallon reserve. Had to put in an inline fuel filter because the slip-on from the Pingle no longer fit. Sounds complicated but isn't really.

That link is for a manual pingel.  The power flo the origional poster wants has a vacumn connection.  It will still shut off if you forget to turn it off manually, just like the oem is supposed to do. hoser

Hey Hoser, the Pingel 1311-CH the original poster asked about IS a manual petcock and the link  Valk_ca provided is for the 1311-CH.  That's the same link I provide when recommending them.  The vacuum one you're talking about is the 1311-CHV.  Direct Line Parts has the manual not the vacuum model listed.

So, VRCC#2838, which Pingle were you looking for? The original one I listed was a manual that requires shutting off each and every time. Pingle does make a vacuum model, the 1311CHV, that I couldn't find on the Eastern Performance website. You could call them to see if they carry it. If not, you could get it directly from Pingle: http://www.pingelonline.com/powerflo.htm. You won't like the price. Its around $180 dollars. Looks like a simple unplug - replug for the hoses. But you'd still be left with the 1/2 gallon reserve issue.

The origional poster wanted a pingel power flo petcock, which is what they call the vacumn petcock, I was merely pointing out that the link was for the manual petcock.  Hoser

I was on Pingel's website last night.  Pingel named all their fuel valves Power Flo just like Yamaha named all their cruisers Star and Suzuki named their's Boulevard.  Here's the link so you can look for yourself.  http://www.pingelonline.com/powerflo.htm

An assortment of EXTRA-long (eleven inch) needle nose pliers... the ones that have differing angles of grip on the nose. The few bucks you spend on the pliers will spare you from exercising your vocabulary whilst reconnecting the hoses to the valve and tank upon completion. Yrmv, sheets
