FL man makes citizen's arrest on fleeing bike hit-and-runner

"I ride a motorcycle," said John Roxey, 61, "and I wasn't going to let him get away."

"I yanked him out of the car and I put a headlock on him and held him on the concrete," Roxey said. "His partner came around to try to help him, and I kicked him and he ran away. I just held the guy until the cops came."


Not bad for 61.......... we (all motorcyclists) ought to start an award/recognition program for guys like this.

A T-shirt with "John Roxey is my hero" would be nice.

Small postscript would be... if you are well trained in first aid the dilemma would be to stop and render aid vs apprehend the fleeing offender.

There's more people able to render aid than there are willing to step up and wrestle down the hit and run driver.  Good for him.  I wonder why the passenger who exited to "help" the driver wasn't charged with attempted assault?  I'm not sure if he was coming at me if kicking him would have been my reaction
