ok, i bit the big one...and ordered TWO of them...for Sherry and me. Now for my last two questions.
1. did any of you order the new rubber gaskets that are used around the mounting brackets? There are three gaskets on the front....left, right and middle (bigger)....and a big one in the middle on the back...and i think maybe even two more for left and right on the back? anyway, it was about 32 bucks worth of gaskets for the shield on the microfiche. So, did anyone replace their gaskets, or did you just use the old ones from your existing shield? Mine are 12 years old....so i'm wondering what kind of condition they would be in to reuse them?
2. did anyone other than the one poster have an issue with the existing stock bolts not being quite long enough to reuse with the new/thicker Clearview shield? I asked Clearview about that, and they said the only ones they heard mention any issues with reusing the bolts were ones using a windshield bag or something like that. otherwise, they claim stock bolts should be fine? How about it?

I reused my gaskets and bolts.
The main thing is not to overtighten the bolts. It will crack the shield eventually. I used some loctite and torqued them to spec.

Hey Tim... I'm the one that mentioned getting the longer bolts, and yes, I do have the windshield pouch. That being said, I seem to recall having a dog of a time putting things back together, until I got the longer bolts, even without the windshield pouch.
Maybe just sumptin' to keep in mind when ya start to put the new shields together.
I reused the gaskets, after cleaning them up and treating with a rubber conditioner.

I got some longer bolts at some time, but I don't remember now if it was for the Clearview or the fariing...
Anywho... I've taken my windshield out of the brackets a half dozen times on my 97, I've always been careful with the gaskets, and they have never torn or caused me a problem...

I reused my gaskets and bolts with no complications. I've been very happy with my Clearview, I would buy from them again!

Tim, I also have a windshield pouch and the stock bolts were fine with the oem shield but too short w/ the Clearview. Went to ACE and got some trick chrome allen head fasteners a little longer and then I wuz happy! I've had my shield for 3+ yrs now and outside a couple of teeny rock dings, it's perfect!! Enjoy!

Has anyone got a picture of the windshield pouch you are referring to? Thanks!

I replaced the stocker on the Rocket with a Clearview. I got the smoke tint, and mine, contrary to what most folks seem to want, is larger than the stock shield. But the point is, don't get your hopes up on quick shipping. They build shields in the same order that they take orders, so all those before you get theirs first, they don't have a lot of inventory laying around unless they have changed in the last year or so.

the clearview is money well spent ... use old gaskets ... take the shield off the mounting bracket and the bolts are plenty long enuff

I've had the Clearview for a few years now. Class act. It is a millimeter or two thicker than OEM. I purchased stainless bolts that were a 1/4 inch longer just for the install. After it was installed I removed one at a time and replaced with the OEM bolt, no problem. Clearview is a good thang. sheets
