Why is it crap always happens just before a trip? I have a trip planned for next weekend, and the piston seal on the rear caliper is shot. I'm going to check with the local Honda dealership tomorrow. But, as with everything else I try to get from them, they'll probably not have it in stock. I'm wondering if any other Honda's share the same rear caliper as a '97 Tourer...?...

Bugs, I've got an extra rear caliper if you want to stop by and get it. Might salvage the trip.

Hey, I really appreciate the offer. My plan is to hit the Honda shop first thing in the morning. If they don't have it in stock, I'm going to call Sharps Motorsports in Amarillo. If they don't have it, I'll see if the dealership here in town can get a set in by Thursday at the latest.  If things don't work out, I may take ya up on it.
Thanks! I will keep you posted!

David Brown's Sport Center in Amarillo is a Honda dealer also. 806-358-4572 IIRC

None of the Honda shops had the piston seals in stock. I went ahead and had the shop here in town order the seals and ship them 'Two Day Air'.. (which ain't cheap..  Angry ) Acording to them, the parts will be here Thurdsay. If nothing else goes wrong, I should be on the road Friday morning.

I really hate working on the bike the day before a trip... Too many bad things can happen.
Thanks again for the help.

Just in case, I'll be at the doctor in Amarillo Thursday afternoon. I'll bring my extra caliper just in case. I have a place there where we can change it out. Call or text me if you need to. I'll pm you the number.

I will call you if things don't work out. I don't know what time their shipments come in.... hopefully it will be early.
I appreciate your help. It means a lot!

Yes, it worked out. I was going to write you earlier, but I got side tracked.
I tell ya what. Ya sure pay for it when you rush the shipping. Two little packets (two seals in each pack) cost me 25 bucks to ship "two day air". On top of the dealership charging 9 buck a set for the seals. But, we're heading out 7:00 in the A.M.  Going to Ruidoso. Hope the wind isn't like it was today........................... If it is, oh well.

Thanks again for your  generous offer. It's greatly appreciated!
