Hello, posted a classified ad looking to trade my 2001 Interstate exhaust off a one owner interstate that I just bought this week. The original owner cut out the 2 six inch pig tails. Sounds to me like a stock Harley. I like it a lot but wife does not. I want her to ride so I need a stock interstate exhaust. If you think your Interstate is to soft sounding lets trade. I like in Suffolk, VA. You can reach me at 757-seven zero five-3087. Thanks, Dan

If the piggies is all that cut, just weld new pieces of pipe backk onto the current exhaust.
Even if they cut them at the cannister, they can be welded back on if the welder is any good.
I've welded on about 6 sets in the past 8 or 9 years.

Thanks RJ, that sounds like a good idea and probably easier than trying to change the whole exhaust. I will look for someone in this area that can weld exhaust pipes.

if there's a stub of the piggies still left just buy a piece of 3/4 in copper tube and 3/4 joints. set screw them in place and bend to match the exhaust outlet. did mine that way and worked very well. if no stub, well listen to R.J.

Saw in another thread that you can buy "piggie plates" from Mark @ horseapple. Then just weld in the whole shebang.

Be sure to get a flashlight and shine it in the pipes to see if they drilled out the baffles....Most folks that cut the piggies drill their little eyes out as well....Be a waste of time adding the welded piggies if the baffles are drilled out....IMO

Used to hunt a lot in suffolk, right off Rt 58. Was in a club that ran dogs, an older guy named George was in charge. Anyway I now wear ear plugs which ever bike I ride, I think it helps save your hearing.

i agree with you Dan, nice and quite is better then loud and obnoxious!! the other day my wife and i went on an hour drive to watch our daughter play soccer. on the way three harleys pasted us, you could still hear 'em 1/4 mile ahead of us!! with the windows closed too!!! i asked my wife "doesn't that SOUND like fun?? she didn't think so. they had illinois plates so they had been on the road for at least 4 hours. they had have been deaf!!

Be sure to get a flashlight and shine it in the pipes to see if they drilled out the baffles I'd take Joe's advice . I cut my piggies off leaving about 3/4 " as recommended and it just gave it a little rumble not offensive at all to Momma. If it's offensive to the passenger I'm thinking some drilling was done. Just saying.
