18 Valkyries for sale on this site alone since the first of May,

Sure seems like a lot,  I know there were not that many when I was looking two years ago.

A part of me is glad to see it. Sometimes I think I should buy another one as a back-up, but seeing so many for sale recently makes me think that there are a lot of low-mileage Valks out there. If something should happen to my bike that I survive, I will certainly buy another!!!!

i wonder if that's a sign of people getting scared by this universal joint thing.  if you can't have parts available, why have the cycle??

People probably waited to sell until the summer, riding weather all over the country.  That would focus the sales on a few months each year versus trying to sell in mid-winter.

And, some are being sold because the riders feel they are not able to ride such a big bike anymore.  Our group does tend to be towards the older end of the scale.

I only know mine is not for sale.  cooldude

It seems like every time something fail on the Valk, there is a panic attack for that particular part, i.e, U-joint, petcock, alternator, you name it. Personally, I am only concerned about one part, the alternator and it can be rebuilt or bought new, your choice. The other parts can be used forever, unless neglected. On another personal note, if I could afford it, my garage would be full of Valkyries.

I think you nailed it on the head .... and prolly find that true with all big bikes including the Harley owners. The average age of motorcycle riders is now 48 according to the American Motorcyclist Association.  Ever wonder why Harley now makes a factory trike ??

Some like it fast, some like it long. Valk drivers can give you both
