The mayor and the fire chief of Joplin said approx 25 to 30% of the city was destroyed. They expect the death toll to rise from the 89 confirmed dead reported earlier today. At this time Joplin has a line of severe thunder storms moving thru. Prayers up from the ozarks to the people of joplin the towns in kansas and minneapolis that all had tornado activity yesterday. Rough day yesterday for lots of folks. RIDE SAFE.

Watching a springfield mo local t v channel-as of this time the death toll in joplin is up to 116 people. They have to this point found 17 people alive that were buried in various buildings. The rescue work proceeds despite the crappy weather. More rain and flooding is a very real possibilty. T V just said this is the deadliest tornado ever. Again-prayers up for these folks in Joplin Mo. RIDE SAFE.

My brother lives in Joplin and is a member of the search and rescue volunteer team, he found an older woman in her bathtub with the room collapsed on her. There are quite a few videos on "You Tube" that take you there as this thing unfolds. My prayers to everyone effected.

Not sure who they are. As i understand it they have a lot of cell towers down and utility services are at best sporadic. When you look at the pictures available-not much difference between joplin mo and some war zone pics we have all seen at one time or another. Not trying to make light of the situation in any diaster area-but it is a war zone. Again offering up prayers for ALL the latest additions to the diaster areas every where. The local T V channels are calling for heavy rain and thunder storms this evening in the joplin mo area again. Local T V also said the emergency people worked thru out the night. The weather channel had a web site and a 800# to make a $10.00 donation to the red cross for joplin. RIDE SAFE.

Your right on, although I've never seen anything like Joplin, war zone or not.... it's been absolutely unreal. Today is gonna be a bad day. We are about to get pounded again.
