Moses Lake, Wa

« on: May 22, 2011, 07:42:08 PM »

Well it took 2.5 days to get from Moses Lake , Wa, to Peoria, Arizona...this here purty black beauty is a sweet ride..1327 miles, 34.34 mpg running 70-75 with some up to 85 spurts...42 degrees when I left, 94 when I crawled into Peoria...the worst part of the trip was hitting Grand Ave coming into Peoria..road construction, slow slow slow traffic where I was passed by no less than two golf carts..wasn't going fast enough for speed to register on the bike...that got hot,,,first time I heard the cooling fan come on the whole trip...

In the beginning:

Just east of Pendleton Oregon, going up to Deadman Pass:

another angle

upthe hill from there

little mining town in Nev (Pioche) from the gas station

at the bottom of the hill overlooking the valley

Caliente nev...train station?

A few yards away

coming down out of the mountains

At the end of the trip.....tar build up from the Grand Ave construction..hope the hell I can wear this crap off the tires...

All in all a great trip...

I'm guessing Peoria Il?? Let us know if the asphalt wears off. Does it affect the balance of the wheel/tire set up?? RIDE SAFE.

Arizona actually...went back and fixed that....yeah it affected it all right, the first turn off Grand Ave I though my front wheel was falling off..bouncing and wobbling...chunks flying everywhere..I certainly hope it wears off...that stuff is sticky and thick..hoping the heat of an afternoon ride will take care of that...
