Why is it the only thing I hear in the media about Ron Paul is "He cant win nomination" ?
NOT ASKING WHY YOU LIKE/HATE HIM

I am just curious as to why he is getting little coverage. I do not have cable T.V. and just assumed that was the reason. When he threw his hat in the ring again and Rand Paul said he would not run against his dad,it seemed to me the other GOP candidates got more coverage about what they had for breakfast than the platform Paul is running on. I am inundated with coverage of Palin's moose calls and hear about it every time Newt breaks wind. Lately been hearing about all the drop outs in the race but had to research Ron Paul specifically rather than waiting on news reports. Is this just me?

I will disclose that I agree strongly with him on the constitution and VERY strongly disagree on a few other policies but I always like an underdog and it just aint clear to me why he is labeled as one. Does it just come down to fundraising ? Has he raised any?

if your asking why the main stream (so called) media won't cover him, I've no idea. I no longer wonder/worry about anything they do or don't do.

I agree 80 to 85% with libertarian views, sometimes I even adopt of some of them.

No media will cover him because he is firmly against big-ticket items on both sides of the political divide.  Therefore both parties are wary of his dedicated followers and figure it's safer to just try and ignore him than give him press and risk increasing his small base of supporters.

My thought is the next president has already been chosen.  A person like Ron Paul just puts a wrench in the works if he gains popularity.....  (Yeah i know, sounds kinda conspiracy theorist like)

He doesn't kiss anyone's rear, he is not business as usual and he in no way supports anything he doesn't think is constitutional. For this the media is going to hate him and therefore ignore him except when they have the opportunity to show him in a bad light.

I imagine they already have someone picked out to favor who they think can win the primary but still lose to Obama. They maybe able to make it happen too.

He can't win because he does not appeal to a large enough spectrum of people.

And I believe that the reason his appeal is so narrow is that he is an ideologue... and he fails on two fronts as a result.

a)  He doesn't positively demonstrate the effects of his programs, including how he would deal with the fallout from some of the drastic changes he proposes.  In other words, once the program is in place, how to handle the huge disconjunction of the economy and government services?  I get that he only thinks that it will somehow sort itself out.

b)  He hasn't shown me how he would actually make it happen in the real world.  An end goal with out a plan that can be executed doesn't mean much, and I don't see anything that Paul has proposed that could actually make his vision a reality.  Sort of like the Tea Party Republicans... want to talk about cutting until it comes to their own district... then, all of a sudden, it is 'good' spending.

Roger that, Rogerthat!

Roger

(ok, I couldn't resist!!)

Joking aside, I think that it's believed, that he couldn't garner enough followers, to make a difference, regardless. I feel he has some interesting ideas, but as was mentioned, doesn't have the answers at what will develop if those ideas are followed. I still like to listen to him, but I wonder how he could have spawned Rand?

I also believe that it's decided "someplace else" who and what are going to win the nomination. I remember before 2000, I was VERY interested in John McCain, and what he had to say, and what I felt he had to contribute, even though I'm normally voting Democrat. Even Rush was touting John, for a long time, even enough for me to spend time listening to what I consider a verbose windbag. Then, suddenly, overnight, the tide changed direction, and John McCain had leprosy, and everything tied to him was viral. Rush jumped both feet onto the Dubya train, and that was that. Dub was carried into office. I think this world would have been a whole lot different, and better, had it been McCain that won the 2000 election. Regardless, my point is that the direction the party was going, swapped over night.

I'm worried it might happen again, in 2012.

I think we'll know a bit more, tomorrow night, after NY 26th results are in.

I suggest that an uninformed vote is worse than not voting...it cancels out 1 informed vote.
