I bought this off the classifieds.....Its eiter Big bikes or Ultimate, but quite frankly I think they are identical.  Yes we like them, My wife likes them more than I do obviously.  At first I thought they were a little whimpy, but they have really held up ok and they are quite functional.  My wife did find it was impossible to adjust them to the needed height with the stock backrest.  THey work much better with the Ultimate back rest because of how the bolts work........hope this helps

Brian,  I put on a set of the passenger armrests on my Std.  Wife likes the "perception" of being more secure.  Now she wants a drink holder for it   Go figure !   Cheesy

I mainly want them for my little biker chic, Emilee. She is 11 yrs old and rides everywhere with me and I think I would feel better knowing something was around her.

Brian, my youngest daughter started riding with me across country at about age 8 or 9.   Her feet would not reach the passenger pegs, so I added 2X4 pieces to make them higher.

Never needed anything to hold her on.

1 time she nodded off on me and we banged helmets.   I put a bungee cord around both of us and we rode a little over 500 miles that day.   If it hadn't of been we had to be to a wedding the next morning we would have stopped and got a Motel room....

She slept alot back there with no problems.   She became a passenger that you could forget real easy she was there....

She rolled with the punches when riding, and ended up telling her husband he needed to go learn how to ride a motor.......   She won't go with him anymore until he completes the MSF Advanced course.  She says he is too dangerous for them both to be on the same motor.  Afraid they will be killed and her daughters would have to go live with G'pa & G'pa, God forbid, they are OLD, or with her Brother and his wife, and 2 brats.    At home the brats are mean assed devils, when over here, they are 2 of the best boys I have ever been around.    They know they can push mom and dad and not get into trouble, time out or grounded.    They staid her for 4 weeks a couple of years ago, took about 10 days to straighten em up.  Here, they are angels, home they are, you fill in the word you want. coolsmiley tickedoff 2funny

She has went to sleep on me a couple of times but she usually is just talking my head off since I have the J&M system on the bike now. I have the adjustable pegs on the bike that I can roll up for her and then back down when Thelma or Rhonda are riding with me. It is when she gets quiet that I worry about her. Plus they will give her someplace to rest her arms.  Just like Lil' Bit, Emilee will have her own bike some day but I can see her with a Duati or CBR1000RR! The faster you go the better she likes it. After Steve's accident I had real hard reservations about letting her ride with me but she hugged me and said she knew that I would take care of her and that she wasn't scared and that I shouldn't be either. .......

If you have an intercom, you can keep her awake real easy....

Every few miles just holler into the intercom and watch her jump......

I did that a couple of time with my daughter.   Last time I did it, she smacked my helmet hard enough it almost turned around on my head.........   I didn't have the chin strap very tight.   Oh, the smacking of the helmet, she got that from her mom.  I'd rather have her do that than poke me in the ribs.........

I like BigBikeThings... I have their forward controls and solo bar.

We have a set of armrests from Ultimate for when Carolyn's riding.
It is easy to adjust the height with the Ultimates, she likes them.

I have a set of passenger armrests on my 97 Standard. They are mounted with a hinge on the back of the passenger backrest. I found that they have a tendency to flip up when traveling at speed and will then come down again when I slow down. This problem I solved by attaching a small bungee cord from the back rack up and over a couple of turns and then down to the rack. Its enough to keep them from flapping in the wind. My first choice would be to remove them however my wife finds them very comforting. She's in charge of the chrome so why argue with her. Grin

can just pull the hinge pin to remove them when riding solo.  It takes about 20 seconds to take them on or off.  My son is the one who usually rides with me.  He falls asleep on long trips on the back for a couple of hours at a time.
