For anyone in the area, Burlington City, NJ has held an Annual Bike night for the past several years. Used to be sponsored by the local Harley dealer that is now closed. It has in the past been a huge event with a few thousand bikes of all makes. Held at the riverbank on the Delaware, High Street in Burlington. Here is a link for anyone interested. ....yeh. ...my old man used to take me there when I was a kid back in the late 60,s .. ....we had just moved to Willingboro and he bought a beautiful dresser from old man Mills....I remember he used to take me back in the shop and Id be all wide eyed while the grown ups shot the breeze...thought I was hot crap being back in the shop ....hangin out with "the guys"...  |

Bunch of HD Dealers closed in the last two years, Wildwood, Salem County and Mills are only the local SJ Dealers. Barb's in Collingswood seems to be doing well.

back in the mid 60's, I had a 65cc Italian Harley and used to buy repair parts from Mills. We lived in Mt Holly and my Aunt lived in Steven's Station, so we used to stop at Mills when I went over to visit my Aunt and Uncle.
Times change....and that old HD survived a major beating for a lot of years.

. ...good ol Stevens Station....we used to hang out in the "orchards" on the back side of the Boro and "smoke".....Burlington cops got wise to to it real quick.....used to sneak in real quiet with their squad cars.....only got caught once....made sure I was "clean"...before they got their sweaty lil hands on me...they frisked me....threw me in the back of the car and took me up to the old Burlington Township Police Station in Stevens Station....held me in a room for a while then came in and said...Okay...you can go...I was like uhhhh...how bout a ride...I live on the otherside of Willingboro ! Guy goes...shurrrrr...go sit in the lobby...next car to to report in...we,ll give you a ride...sat there for about an hour until I fuggerd out....no ride was comming my way....by then it was 1:30 in the morning....wound up hitch hiking back to the Plaza down Rt 130....and you know how much fun that can be...especially at 1:30 am.....got a ride though....and wound up walking all the way down Levitt Pkwy and home... ......ahhhhhhhh.....those were the dazeee.. |

I grew up in Burlington City, old stompin ground. Still live local in Edgewater Park. Only locals refer to it as Steven's Station. Mill's is no longer a HD dealer but a couple gents stayed on & do service work there for now. Apparantly HD wanted them to build a grand showroom and Mill's decided not to.

did a lot of dirt bike riding back in Delty's Lane and the old Hooker Chemical badlands. Lots of great riding back in there.
I can still remember the acrid smell of Hercules chemical plant in the whole area.....none of that stuff could have been good for our health.

no, I grew up on a farm outside Mt Holly...and lived in Willingboro in the early 70s. Haven't been on the bike since back surgery last June 7th. Might have to consider riding up for the bike night if I can get the bike down off the jack. It's been up in the air for a year now. |

Just a reminder, Burlington Bike night is tomorrow June 4th. 4-10pm. High St. and the Riverbank in Burlington, NJ 08016. It would be great to see some Valks there!
