Hi All,  for those of you that are running the Mobil 1  15 -50,  did you notice more tranny noise than before.   Mine seems to be quite a bit more.  Thanks

Actually, it made mine quieter, that is the main reason I've used it for the last 80000 miles.  Hoser    cooldude

When I went from Mobil 1 4T to Rotella T Synthetic, my engine got real noisy.  Since switching to Mobil 1 15W50 my engine got a lot quieter.

I also found the the Rotella synthetic to be noisy. I am going to try the Rotella T5 synthetic blend. Has anyone had any experience with this? I previously used the Spectro synthetic in my Suzuki with good results. I'm hoping that the Rotella T5 will work as well.

Any body know who has this oil at the best price?? Coming up to an oil change on my valk-thought i'd give this stuff a whirl. Checked o'reilly on line and they get $8.19 a quart. Which with tax here in mo puts it a smidge over $35.00 a gallon. T I A for any and all help. RIDE SAFE.

I didn't notice any differance at all Dave, except my wallet. I switched from Amsoil synthetic to the Mobil-1 15w-50 synthetic. My ears tell me the synthetics are quieter.
  Old2soon...I think I paid $21.00 and change @ Wally-World, for the jug.

Wally World has discontinued carrying Mobil 1 15W50.  My local Wally World put it on the discontinued shelf @ $19 for a 5 qt jug.  They had 6 jugs on the shelf.  I grabbed all 6 and asked them to check in the back for more.  I was out of luck but I bought all they had.   Evil

Think I may have said this before. If your bike is noisier with Mobil 1 15-50, there is something terribly wrong with your bike.

Dave,
Have you done anything else to the bike recently? Any new mods, exhaust work? Anything that could contribute to more noise?
Change helmets? Take off windshield? Ear plugs, no ear plugs? I notice a significant differance from my winter helmet to my summer helmet, to no helmet. It all sounds differant.

It made a significant reduction in the 45-50MPH whine for me.

Tundra, no I did nothing but change from the new Rotella T 6 to the Mobil 1 15w-50.  May be its just me, the bike runs well and smooth.  Don't know what the deal is, think I will go out and take a look at the bottle to make sure I bought the right stuff.   Almost a thousand miles on this change.   BTW, Doug, I found an Ethonal free gas  at a citco station in Dunedin, right at 580 and alt 19.  Bike runs pretty well on this gas.  Hope to see you soon.

Oreily's auto puts this stuff on sale about twice a year. Last time it was 4.99 a quart for the mobil 1  15w50. I usually get about a dozen qts. and it'll last me about a year. I been running this type oil for over a 100 thousand miles with no problems. It seems to quiet some of the whine on the lady.

I found it in my local Wally last night, 5 qt. jugs only $23.88.  Apparently in stock again? Maybe just in Florida? However I found no quarts on the shelf and no home for them.

Note; You can online order the Mobil-1 15W50 in quarts for store pick up only @ $7.98 per qt.

Also quieter like everyone else.
Wally world seems to always have the best price around here with the 5 quart jug.

I had been using the Rotella full synthetic for a long time, but decided to switch to Mobil 1 15-50 last oil change based on some recommendations I read on this forum.  I took a long trip recently and notice absolutely no difference so it will be back to Rotella for me.

As far as Walmart discontinuing Mobil 1 15-50, here in Indy some Walmarts carry it and some do not. Seems like the ones with more foot traffic carry it, the smaller ones do not.
