Thinking very hard about repainting my red/white '97 a solid burgandy color with some mild gold pinstriping. Next year when my Valk hits 100K I'm going to put her up on the stand & do some deep maintenence. Rotors, bearings, belts, polish or refinish the wheels, u-joint etc. in celebration of the "rebirth" at 100K. Might as well strip the tins off & repaint at that time.

But I need some inspiration!
Pics with what paint color used {if known} would be great!
Thanks.

In my humble opinion the appearance of the Valk you own is pretty hard to beat...I have always like that 1997 red/white color scheme.  However if you are going to go the repaint route, here are a couple of photos I noticed and saved for when I paint one of my bikes.  From what I read the bike was painted by "mywingbling" not too far from you in Floral City,FL; their website is www.mywingbling.com.  The site said that the paint used was: P73-174, Candy Red with Snakeskin.  Good Luck

Here's my '98 Tourer. When I decided to buy and repaint an Interstate tank for my Tourer, I also repainted my saddlebags because they were a little "chewed up." I like it because it looks almost stock, but not quite.

WOW!
I was just thinking of a straight color with a little pinstriping to accent. JimL, that snakeskin paint looks great. Fudgie & MB, those flame jobs are too cool!
The paint on my '97 looks very tired & like BlackJack's bike kinda of nicked up. Some brake fluid damage & tool drop scratches too. I don't want to get a lot of $$ tied up in paint. It has been my experience that when I do something ALWAYS happens to it right away. tickedoff I am going to remove all the painted parts & have some of the guys at my work paint them in the bodyshop then reassemble myself. I guess I need to have it clearcoated like the new cars are done. I'm a bit tired of the R&W paint scheme & I really dig a one color look on a Tourer. I was also figuring on using a late model automotive color so that when the inevitable happens it will be easy to match.
Keep the pics coming!

Thats what I'd do if I ever repaint. Take it to a dealership and paint it. It'll be alot cheaper. You can do this if you want attention, at least you'll be different.
