WEST PALM BEACH — A jury today awarded a Lake Worth man and his wife $2.5 million for the injuries he suffered in a February 2009 motorcycle crash on Woolbright Road and Southwest 18th Street.

Patrick Taggart, 47, was riding his motorcycle west on Woolbright when a car driven by Edna Reilly turned in front of him, said his attorney Scott Smith. Taggart's leg was broken in several places.

As a result, the former telephone lineman was forced to accept a desk job, he said.

In addition to money to cover past and future medical costs and lost wages, the jury awarded him money for pain and suffering. His wife, Sharon, was awarded money for loss of companionship.

'but officer I didn't see him"  I wonder if this old line was used at the scene?

I've been hearing alot of hit and runs on the news lately, seems personal responcibility has taken a holiday.

That and texting and gaming and shovin food in their pie hole and talkin on the phone and adjusting the noise box and adjusting the heat or a/c and tryin to keep the kids happy and the list goes on. Every frikkin thing EXCEPT driving. No wonder they don't see us-the ain't payin ATTENTION. All those years of driving cross country-some things i saw are better left unsaid. Just missed 42 years out there. It ain't gettin no better rather quickly. I'm rather fortunate to live in a light traffic area. But there are enough idiots to go around. At the end of this memorial day weekend one of the national news outfits will give us the body count for the holiday weekend. The truly sad part of the body count?? 99 and a half per cent did not need to die. Alcohol-stupidity-any and all and more of the reasons i outlined. Truly sad. RIDE SAFE LADIES AND GENTELMEN.
