I was in chicago today I don't know why but I was listening to "progressive talk 980"
the talking head was trying to make a claim that the 'christian right' blamed new orleans for being hit by katrina. not the fringe kooks like the phelps gang, he just said the 'christian right'. I don't remember to tell you the truth if I heard any reports of that at the time, I was working for the P.O. so I was reading a lot of news.how ever he's trying to say that katrina was the wrath of god and that since joplin is in the bible belt there will be no mention of god doing this. I guess he didn't get the phelps memo.....if I did hear it I relegated it to the tinest extreme minorities and moved on.
they will always play the racist,homophobic,sexist,islamophobic, bible thumping, gun toting, wife beating, nascar watching card won't they? ( that ridiculous, I don't watch nascar )
he did get this right he said what actually did the number on 'nawlins' was the flooding because the levy system was only rated for a cat 4 hurricane not that monster cat 5 that wound up hitting MS, AL and LA. but like much of the time he blamed the 'government' for misappropriating the funds to reinforce the levy system. this is very common liberal speak for 'our guys screwed the pooch and we need to cover for them" who was running LA at the time DEMS......
they did the same thing back during waco, saying it was the 'guvnment' when it was clinton and reno.
