Saw a for sale ad somewhere a while ago about a Tourer with Factory Soft bags. Do these exist? Where would I find them if they're still available, and are they any good?

I believe that the 'soft' bags were an option, for the Standard...  The Tour came with factory 'hard' bags.

When I first got my Valk, it had the Honda brand Valkyrie leather bags (studded).  They are nice, for leather, bags.  Like other bags that are leather, they won't keep their contents dry...  That is why I changed over to the Champion 'hard' bags.

Honda Direct Line has them for $530...

Plus mounting brackets, for $120...

My 01 standard had factory soft bags and a tourer W/S put on at the dealer by the orig. owner. The windshield did not have the tourer emblem on it.I don't know of any that came from the factory that way.

Std = NO bags or option of soft bags, but still a STD.

Tourer = came with hard bags and a windshield.

You can not add bags to a STD and call it a Tourer, that is false advertising.

It wouldn't be a "Tourer" as the Tourer came with hard bags.....it would be a Standard with bags added.

You can get them new from DirectLine.....or used ones pop up on ebay from time to time

I have the OEM leather bags on my Valk.

I've also got a set of Mustang Saddlebags on backorder.  I've had them on order since April and the latest shipping date I've received from Criuser Customizing is now the middle of June.

If and when I ever get my Mustang's in, I'll be posting (with much better pics) my OEM leather bags on ebay and/or the classifieds here.  Haven't thought much about a starting price yet, buy maybe around a $100 bucks for the bags and mounts with hardware.

Tell my local dealer that! I called him up on it, told him Honda didn't make an ACE Tourer till 98, so how could he have a 97 ACE Tourer? Picture followed next ad, it was a 97 ACE, which he called a Tourer because it had bags and a windshield. I said then it was an ACE tourer. He asked if I was the CL police. Nice salesmanager! Talk about misleading advertising from a dealer, wounder if someone got sucked into it?

Guess who I tell my fellow riders to avoid?

I bought  a 98 gl1500ct about 2 months ago. It had soft bags on it. I don't know if it came this way or someone switched them out. As far as I can tell the standard is a C and the tourer is a CT and the CF is the Interstate. In my case the price was right and it only had 3,800 miles on it. Didn't know much about Valks when I bought it. It has been great so far. Got 39 mpg on a recent ride and have had no problems with it in the 700 miles I have put on it.

Not only that but the ACE Tourer did not have the ACE engine in it.  It had the engine from the 1100 Spirit cause it ran smoother.  I had an '01 ACE T.

So, is mine a "toured out standard"? Or, a "standard d'tour"?

Actually, it's MY bike, and I'll call it whatever I want...until I go to sell it.
