Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Rolled in a 1/2 hour ago. First off a big thx to timber and chili pepper for a great time. Them big azz burgers were great!  cooldude The company was great and so were the laughs. Thx for making feel at home. We will be back up next year.
Woke up this morning with the intentions of heading home to beat the storm. But with the sunshine (finally) she wanted to go canoeing. After a big meal at the Lone Pine we went to Penrods and rented a kayak. The river was awesome. Water was really cold. We headed home after noon. Was gonna stay the night in Ottowa and ride to Hell and meet up with GiG but after getting gas and by word of mouth the storm coming from Grand Rapids was a doosie we decided to book it home. Dark skies stayed to the right till we stopped at a rest stop around exit 29ish on I-69. Started to sprinkle so we hurried. Bright skies to the south. Well, it was bright with heavy rains. It came in buckets. Cranked her up to 80 mph to find a exit. Only saw dim tail lights and the yellow lines on the road. Water running down my crotch and down my legs into my boots. She asked if I can see and I nodded. Little did she know I can only see 10' ahead of me.  Undecided 10 or more miles pass till I find a exit. Exit 13 in Coldwater? we pull under a gas station behind another bike. Tornado sirens are going off and police and fire are coming from town. Soon as we get off the bike a guy in a car says 'did you see the tornado on the bridge?' 'Uhhh....the bridge we just got off of?' 'Yea, right there and it had a pole barn in it. It was less then a min ago' 'f^ck me running!' Biker dude says it was right across the on ramp. It was cool. We are soaked and shivering and there is no power at the station so she locks us out. We wait till storm passes and Kit wants to wait till we get to Ind to stop and change so she take off the skid lid. The debri field was neat. You could see the path where it went down some bussinesses property and there were barn metal all over the interstate.  We change clothes at the truck stop 15 miles later. We were so soaked that even my gun holster was dripping water. 40 miles later we stop for supper and finish up the trip.

Thx again guys and we hoped to be back up again next year.... with more apple pie. cooldude

Geeesus jenny!!! I know dem boigahs are awesome but Ya didn't hafta try n die for it!!!  Shocked Shocked  Glad ya didn't end up parked in that pole barn. It has definitely been a really strange year, weather-wise. "Meteorologists" are about useless...weather forecasts change by the hour, it seems. It was a beautiful morning but we slept in, figuring it just wasn't worth it to plan ahead much...puttered around the house til after noon then ran up 119. I gotta tell ya it's still cursed cold by the big lakes...oy!

Hope you got out on the river early enough to catch some wild-life. It's smile-worthy to chase a Great Blue Heron downstream or catch a river otter playing on the banks. The AuSable is a beautiful river and pretty safe up here by the headwaters. Monday is actually supposed to act like a normal day for the season....s'posed ta be in the 80's! I'm scammin' outta work  Evil police

About two ounces of yer Apple pie left. That stuff sure is good! I could probably get a buzz just sucking on the cinnamon stick...lol.

Thanks for coming up. We loved havin' ya for company. It WAS a great group of folks and you and Kit just fit right in....good-hearted folks.  cooldude Y'all come back now  Cool
