Thank someone that has made the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. Cuz that in my mind is what memorial day or veterans day is all about. Those brave men and women laid down their life on the altar of freedom. Myself-personnally-i hope i haven't let them down. I hope thats enough.

I dunno...My opinion..

I was just talking to a buddy of mine on the phone today about a guy we lost in Iraq. I think if you knew em, keep them in your mind. If you didn't.. just exercise the freedoms they protected for you in whatever way you can. A long ride fits the bill nicely in my mind.

How do you thank them?

Strive to live your life in ways that would make them proud.

Here's a good start:

1. Honor their memory.
2. Never let them down - do what you know they would do if they were still amongst us.
3. Honor our nation - defend her any time she needs it in whatever way you are able.
4. Support all our servicemen and women, both in war and in peace.
5. Live an honorable life.
6. Teach the next generation the above rules.

Be a Patriot.

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.

My ride today took me past a lot of cemeterys. I tried to stop at most of them and get off the bike and at the very least render a snappy parade ground salute. This i did and a thank you and well done. I was also fortunate enough to run up on an active duty soldier. Shook his hand and thanked him for what he is and will be doing. He told me he is gonna deploy to the sand box in december. Told him to be safe and keep his powder dry. He in turn thanked me for my concern. I thank each and every one of you for the suggestions. My cousin jim (kia vietnam)was on his way to bigger and better things. Guy i went to school with vince (kia vietnam) wasn't on gods green earth long enough to even have a chance to make it big or screw up. In both instances and to many others-we will never know what their potential might have been. Gettin kinda difficult to see the keyboard now. Tryin to figure out why the heck it's rainin here in the house. Thanks people. I dedicate todays ride to jim and vince and all the others that paid that high price for yours and my freedom. WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET.
