I did'nt take many pictures .....I started this ride friday morning on one bike and finished it Sunday night on another. I cleaned my yellow/creame HALF-BREED up thursday night and looked at the tires thinking  " I can get one more ride out of these " . Long story ,short I only made it to Helen, Georgia when I pulled over and saw cords hangin' out of my rear tire  Sad  I turned and headed for home pissed off at the world and myself for riding that bike ( I should have knew better and have only myself to blame ) . Got up Saturday morning and got on a bike that had good tires and hooked up with the group in Coker Creek, Tennessee. Lesson learned and it will never happen again just for the record it was amazing how fast those tires went from " I can get one more ride out of these " to dangerous with cords hanging out of the rear and the front close behind in fact it was about 225 mountain miles that chewed the hide down into the cords.Special thanks to Britman for putting this ride together the roads he picked was outstanding and you have my vote to do it again out of this same area as you can't go wrong no matter which way you leave the parking lot looking for roads made for motorcycling.

Smiley don't beat yourself up Joe, it happens to the best. At least you got home safe and could switch out bikes and catch up with the group.
See you in Michigan. cooldude

Joe,
I enjoyed seeing the rest of the wild bunch Friday on the ride over to Clayton. I only wished I could of stayed with the group till we got to clayton so I could see some old friends. We had a good ride, but not a "safe" ride  Cheesy.  We were all pushing too hard....I blew a curve when my front tire slid on a very wet road, lucky thirteen did the same and hurt his ankle. I'm glad your tire didn't give out on the ride over. I am looking forward to another ride soon.

I'm not blaming you Coot, You can share the wind with me anytime. We are all very good riders and we ride fast in the twisties. We were all in a hurry to get somewhere by a certain time, you guys to Clayton, me to get home to close some deals, and looking back on it, maybe were pushing a little too hard for conditions....rain,tires,etc.

I know what ya mean, by the rubber seeming to go away much quicker, in the last few hundred miles...  Had the same thing happen, heading to the CBR a few years ago.  "I can get one more ride outta these tires'...  Famous last words.  Left Wisconsin thinkin' I'd be fine...  Get to Crawfordsville IN (300 miles later), and you could just about see the air through the back tire  Shocked

Lucky for me, Daryl and Glen had come down with the XF6 trailer, and that's how I made it back home...

Glad ya got a ride in!  Yer one of the lucky guys that has to make a choice between 3 valks (ya can't hide money  Wink ).

I'm glad no one was hurt and got home safe this weekend.  I finally got my bike back together Saturday night.  Now it is ready to go to Franklin, W.Va. on the 10th.  Looking forward to it sooo
much.
