I'm looking for a tank bib for my Interstate. The Hopnel Interstate model is gone and I'd like something more than the Mustang model. Custom is probably where I'm headed. I'm looking for studs, braiding and a carved dragon Any suggestions or good experiences to share?

Check with Rob at Peaceful Cruisin....   http://peacefulcruisin.com/_wsn/page5.html

I have one of his bibs on my VTX and like it.  He can do custom work as well.  Check out some of his other bibs for ideas.

Thanks for the link. Yes, this is like what I have in mind. I see they've done a bib for the standard Valkyrie. I hope they'll consider doing an Interstate. It look like they form their bibs right over a tank so this could be a problem if they don't have access to one. I sent them an email and they auto-responded that they'll be back in town on 4/21. I'll follow up . . .

RobT @ Peacefulcruisin.com sends his regrets as he doesn't have an Interstate tank to work with. Since he uses the tank to stretch and shape the leather in place he needs a tank to work with. Now that has me thinking: Does anyone know of a trashed Interstate tank that can be had for a song? The sides can be dented, the bottom can be rusted out etc., and NO I'm not going to send him mine! Anyway, if anyone knows of a trashed Interstate tank please let me know as I'd love to donate it to a very good cause - mine! And then any rider with an Interstate could have a beautiful custom tank bib that's practically unique.  cooldude

I have a Heritage too, very similar to Oyeaa's, but without the fuel cap cover (you can get it with or without the cover). Nice product and very nice people to deal with. They gave me a discount for being a VRCC member. cooldude

Thanks for the good info guys. Do you really need to remove them as often as they say to avoid scratching the paint below bib?

I just removed it once in one riding season and did not notice any paint scuffing... On the other hand, it is not a big job to do it. The tank bib is held in place by the fuel tank bolts. So if you remove the seat and the rear tank bolt, you can lift the back of the bib. You don't have to remove the whole thing.
