Hey, gang...

About two weeks ago now, I found myself in Atlanta for work and needing to go to Virginia for work the following week.  I was already on the (all red) Valk, so I decided to do the noble thing save my employer the extra airfare and just ride up to Virginia instead of riding home and then flying back out.  Rose was able to come out and join me, so we rode the Blue Ridge Parkway up.  I've written up those bits on my blog: Rainy Day and Sunny Day.  But for those of you averse to clickys, I'll put a couple of photos here.  I can't say enough good about the food in Boone, NC.  We only ate two meals there, but they were both OUT-STANDING.  One was on a tip from Mad Maps and the other was something we looked up in the Garmin Zumo.

Nothing to see here but the rain.

So we went to the waterfall, instead.

But the next day was sunny.

And we had a fabulous ride...

Have you started buttering up your manager - planning a Fall trip to check out the color in the northeast yet?

Thanks for sharing. ~Jeff

they actually sent me to vermont last fall, but i had to go on a plane because of time constraints.  so while i have now officially seen the color in the northeast, i've not really gotten to RIDE it.  i'll meditate on it and see what i can do.  Smiley  ohmmmmmmmm.....

my big fall roadtrip plans are for southern utah.  i promise rose will take more pictures.  i should note that none of the above photographs are mine.  she is in charge of all photography because the last time we took a big trip, i borrowed a camera so i could take pictures, too.  and when we got home and downloaded 'em all, her pictures picked mine last for the dodgeball team, kicked 'em around, and sent 'em back inside to stop their nosebleeds.   it was utterly ridiculous how much better hers were than mine.  i chalk that up to her having spent her college years getting an art degree and not writing important papers on the structural integrity of bits of soil and iron.  Tongue
