Is there a requirement for motorcycle manufacturers to make replacement parts, and if so is there a time limit untill mfg. no longer needs to make replacements?

Dunno for sure but Honda uses the same parts on many different models.  I have had 2 Honda bikes that were over 15 years old and never went without an oem replacement except for exhaust.  I know some valk parts are hard to find but many are still out there.  It just takes some looking.
