I live on the central coast of California.  My understanding is that when Burt Munro died, he left his bike to his brother and when his brother died, it went to his nephew who lives near me in California.  When the movie came out, the bike was brought out to be shown at a friends house.  He provided me this pictures, which I had forgotten about, but I thought everyone would enjoy.  It is my understanding that the bike was restored by someone in our area.  The coupe in the third picture are our friends.

The movie makes you think the bike was cobbled together, but these pictures show that the bike was really engineered well.

And there is also the line ... "but I've come all the way from New Zealand."

Great movie.
