Just this afternoon, I had made a trip to the local supermarket and parked next to a pickup. Plenty of room to open my driver's door all the way. When I came out not ten minutes later, there was a different car parked facing mine and a shopping cart sitting between our bumpers. And....here's the "good" part, two scratches on the side of my car. One starts on the left front fender a few inches back from the headlight, stops, then picks up behind the wheel well and continues on to the door. A second one is about six inches below and starts just behind the wheel well goes almost the full length of the door. And, most of it is all the way into the primer. It's a good thing I wasn't there, I wouldn't be paying for it...now I will have to. The car just turned 31k and is just shy of four years old, with not a mark on it....until now. I checked the shopping cart and on the side there was a couple parts to it that stuck out slightly...and there was some paint residue on it that matched my car. I now have to get the entire left front fender and door repainted. I can't believe someone wasn't aware of what they were doing. If so, they don't need to be driving because their brain isn't working. The first new car I've ever owned and right off the showroom floor, and here some jackass has to put the first scratch on it. I was so PO'd I didn't dare go home for a while.

You need to check with the store and see if they caught the act of camera. They might even be able to get the plate number of the car that did the damage.

I can't believe someone wasn't aware of what they were doing. The sad part is they probably did. Too many people just don't care or have any respect for other people or other peoples property.

This type of sheet happens cause they are tooooooooo firkin lazy to take the cart to the 'Carts go here area'.
I've seen old stowed up people push their empty cart to the rack and park it, then I've seen able bodied bastards just give the cart a shove toward the front of any car around. Would like to have my old sap handy. They would wake up in next week with a hell of a headache. I'd end up in jail on a simple assault charge. But, I think it would be worth it.

I feel your pain... and anger. A week after buying our van somebody backed into it and put a hole through the rear bumper. We had it fixed a year later and, within two weeks, someone caught the front bumper corner (leaving paint on it) and swiped the driver side (leaving scratches and scuffs from the front of the rear door all the way back. Bastards.

I feel for you John, had some thing similar happen to my wife's car last year. Some one backed into the rear drivers side door, had to reskin the door. Car was 3 months old, and I had to eat the $250 deductible. If I had caught them, they would have needed some body repair also. There are a lot of low life's out there.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Dang, my truck just turned 3 y/o and has almost 70k on it. But it has several dents and scratches due to cows/trailers/fences/and a deer. (hey, I was at a stop light in downtown Colorado Springs and the stupid buck tried and missed jumping over the hood of the truck) But whilst washing the scooter today, I noticed that someone had scratched the INSIDE of my windshield. About the only place I have parked it besides the house is on base.

some people won't own up to it when they run some pedestrian over, so I'm not real surprised they take off when scratch some paint. I feel your pain. we got my wife's car backed into in the parking lot of the liqour store years ago. I know who done it, just can't prove it.

I have watched an awful lot of worthless type folks hit another drivers truck in a truck stop-than try to leave-without owning up to the accident. Pulled my rig in front of more than one scumbag so they wouldn't run off. Had a couple of steering wheel holders-not drivers-tell me if they turned another accident into their company-they would get fired. ZERO sympathy from this old fart. You got that many accidents you don't need to be drivin big trucks. Nobody seems to want to take responsibilty these days. I was brought up to be responsible for my actions. Has stood me in good stead all these years. Sides iffin i didn't-i'm thinkin momma and daddy would climb out of the grave and whip my a$$. RIDE SAFE.
