For some recruits, there is nothing basic about basic training.  It was clear that one soldier in particular was not getting the hang of it when on guard duty one night, he cried out, “Halt, Don’t shoot or I’ll move!”

Hey cool it guys/gals, you are going to make this old Marine Corps Salt cry.   Last time I did that was at my retirement party from the CHP when I was roasted by some of the kids when it happened, adults @ retirement, that I had kicked in the butt when I had a chance of tossing them in jail and throwing the key away.   I remember 3 of them saying that if it hadn't of been for my treatment of them they would of either ended up in prison or DEAD.

EarlyBird and hayHauler, let's don't talk about it, let's just Get-R-Done.

I can now make day trips so long as I'm back home to recharge my O2 containers that evening.

Maybe we can meet some weekend 1/2 way and go from there.  I can be gone on my O2 tanks a total of 26 hours, before I have to be home again to recharge the cylinder.(s).

Yes sir, I'm renting the XP02, however, it don't last very long on batteries, like 3 to 4 hours max.

It's pretty simple to wire it and/or a charger into the bike. I realize it would take most of at least one saddlebag away, but I was just looking for a way to lengthen the rides.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the gettin there, the sleepin at night and the gettin home covered.     It is the day activity if i'm just a walkin around.   Day 1 is covered, BUT, I need to recharge the portable tanks every night and without the concentrator for recharging, I'm screwed.   Savvy?

Only 1 I have found fits on my stationary concentrator........Ain't carrying that big old heavy sum beach.   However, thanks for the suggestions.

These posts have been the hilight of my day since I got here. HIU is the first page I go to in Readers Digest at my doctor's office. I did 3 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and years in the Air Cadets and Reserves before that, and always enjoy stories from the military.

Thank-you, RJ, If you ever get another calendar or book, please start this up again!

Thanks R.J. You made alot of folks chuckle with that. SEMPER FI!
BTW, I got to shake the hand of a feller who had a bumper sticker "My other ride is a B-17".
He started out as a Ball Turret gunner (scheeeeez) and then got a field commission and finished the war as a Navagator. 51 missions.

I enjoyed the Jokes, very good stuff,i also had a look at the photos of the guys doing their stuff on D-Day,the airfield where a lot of the paratroops took off from is not far from where i live, its in an area called Northamptonshire.Quite often when i go riding my valk around lincolnshire,Cambridgeshire and Northants,i run into US memorials, there was a great many of them stationed around these parts During WW2.

If anyone has a relative who is buried over here, let me know and i can go and take a photo of their grave.
