I'm not going to be able to make the HillBilly Run......   ....... I need a new front tire for the Valk.....not so bad on it's own, but I noticed that the inside of my front left tire on the KIA is bald.....  .....those are ~$200 Michelin tires on there.....supposed to get 60,000 miles on them, but I'm just short of 45,000.....the other ones might have maybe 5K more left on them?...... the rotors need to be turned too, along with some new brake pads and a front end alignment(obviously).....it didn't feel like it was out of whack?!!....it's going to cost me between $1,000-1,200 just to get my main ride back in order according to how much I want to spend on replacement tires........along with ~$200ish for a new front tire for the bike..... ...... It seems that everything has gone downhill FAST and left me in a bad situation.....going on 4 yrs with no raise at work and actually found out a week or so ago that all us employees who only have health insurance on ourselves will no longer get it for free per the agreement the County/City made when they combined Charters back in 1991.....so, I guess the 326 of 1,500 employees who have been getting it "free", will now be getting a pay cut??!!..... .......BUT, yeah I know, I'm lucky to have a job and I'll do my part to defray the costs of healthcare.....I just made 15yrs back in March, and I don't think I even went to a Dr. for about the first 10yrs I was there....never even had a GP picked out until I was around 35......Oh well.....I guess I've got to pay to play.....just caught me with my pants down right now.....  |

Iv'e got a few old cars setting around just come get one of those and drive it a while.
I have 300$ worth of spare change in my spare change bowl.(NEW VALK TIRE)

If so let me know I know someone that needs one I noticed on Britman's ride that the left side of my front tire has next to no tread left on it...I don't want to pull a "Smokin Joe" and get half way up there only to find I'm looking at cords.... I am cursed sure going to get a few thousand miles more out of that rear tire that leaks down a little every few days.....even if I have to use it up circling the neighborhood!!...... .... |

I've heard this excuse from you before Stanley, remember Joe's Fall Color ride a couple of years ago, you came in a car because of bad tires....maybe its just me, but when my rubber hits the wear bars there coming off, that last 20% go's fast...too bad you can't make it, I hope everything works out for you...start pulling some pm in advance next time... |

That's very generous of you Al.....and I appreciate it, but the way I was raised up was to pay my own way or not at all.....Daddy taught me if I wanted something, I had to work to get it myself....it kinda stuck....being poor made me appreciate what I have been able to get own my own.... |

I'll get my main ride fixed first, and then take care of the Valk...I plan on making some long weekend rides after I get the other stuff fixed....you just never know where I'll show up next..... |
