I would like to see what holds the top lid of the saddle bags up so they wont fold back and brake the hinges. There is a short cable attached to the bottom of the hinge bolt but is not attached to the lid and it 's not long enough to hook on the lid.. Whats up with the cable and what holds the lid open ? The bags came off a I/S . with the lift off lid. I ordered new hinges so they will raise up , but now I'm scared the lid will drop back and brake the hinges off the bags . Thanks

The I/S bags lift off to the side and the little cable is attached to both the lid and the bag.

The hinge on the I/S is more like a tongue and groove slot or groove.
Someone correct me if I am wrong do the toured bag lids have a real bing and flip foward.
Hope that helps.

Remove the Interstate cables, install Tourer cables, one per bag. I don't have a picture available but easy to figure out with the part in hand.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

If you got lid racks you may want to keep the I/S hinges, esp if you bungi stuff to the racks. Thats what I do. Lift off the loaded lid and lay it on the seat. I gotta becareful if someone else removes my lid tho.
