A scanned version of the manual was available for download a few months ago.
It was not possible to searh for spesific words because all pages are pictures.

I used a OCR program and uploaded the new document to my FTP server.

Just click the link and wait until the document are loaded and than save on your computer.

It will take a few minutes....

A definite feat of endurance.  Your OCR and patience is far superior to mine.  Great job!

OK, what am I doing wrong?  I tried loading from the National site and after a half hour gave it up.  Trying from here and still getting nothing.  Only been 10 minutes here so far.  I must be doing something wrong.  Internet access seems to be working.  All else functions fine.  I have Adobe Acrobat.  Am I just holding my mouth wrong?

OK, just got the message, 'The file is damaged and could not be repaired'.  What does that mean?

Ray:
Try a right click, and "save link as", or "save target as", or whatever your browser uses.  That will save it locally, and tends to work better than loading it from the remote site.
I would also imagine that with him posting it on the national tech board, his server got hit pretty hard right away.  If you're still having trouble, wait a while till the furor calms down, then try again.

"Save Link As..." seems to be working.  At least I can see how much is downloaded and what the status is.  10% in about a minute seems very reasonable.

My pleasure!
All I know about the Valk I have learned from the VRCC, and I have much more to learn from you.

I´m working with a new section on my website about different exhaust systems and exhaust mods.
I will in all likelihood need some advise / information regarding your experiences with the different makes and mods.
Maybee its possible to make a poll? I have never tried that so I am grateful for any help.

Any good ideas for other stuff on my website?
Another thing is that Norwegian is my mother tongue so I´m afraid the are some typing errors and grammar errors by the very fact I have not hired any to read the proofs of my website.

You are doing fantastic with your English.  Keep up the good work.

Along with your request for additional information or areas for your website, has anyone ever done research into the differences in the carb models between the different years/models of the bikes.  What the difference is in the specifications of each, and what, if any, difference they make in the bikes.  Has anyone experimented with swapping to different model carbs?  Just curious.

I have emailed the mfg and asked, but I have not received an answer.
The 1997 -49 State have VPKOA carbs and California have VPKOB carbs
The 1998 -49 State have VPKOJ  carbs and California have VPKOK carbs
California models use different cams

I´m checking the European models for differences as well. So I´m working with it....

Dag,

Don't give a single thought about your English.  It is nearly perfect and anyone who would complain about such good English, especially when it is a second language, isn't worth listening to.  Don't give it another thought.

Thanks for the great information.  You are GREATLY appreciated!
