Well,I guess my valkyrie isnt new.Its a beautiful turqouise and black 98 tourer.I rode it home 5 minutes ago.I cant believe how much lighter it feels and how much easie it is to handle than it was on my 96 aspencade.I have lots of questions.I am sure i will find the answers here.First one:it wouldnt run right on reserve,i had to switch it to on then it was fine. Why is that?Looking forward to being a member here.

Welcome, doubleminded!

Why not hop on your trusty steed and ride to Duke's in Plano for your first VRCC meeting?

My Valk acted that way once and it turned out the filter in the fuel tank was plugged up with dirt and rust.

W E L C O M E ! ! !   to the asylum!  You're gonna like it here.  We need to see pics of your bike!  There is plenty to learn on this site and lots of knowledgable people ready and willing to help.

Here's my bike while out on the Mid-Winter ride this year.

Welcome!  I'm guessing you latched onto the one that was sitting at Cycle Center of Denton.

Take Disco's advice and head to the meeting tonight.  I'd ride over with you from Corinth, but I'm a little far from there at the moment.

I'll be leaving for the meeting from Oak Point.  I could meet you at the Prairie House parking lot at Naylor & 380 if you want to ride together.

Welcome to the world of the Dragon.  You will not see a bunch people who are more dedicated and knowledgeable on the Valkyrie than the DFW chapter.   Greatest bunch I  have ever had the pleasure of being a part of.  Very helpful too.  Watch the board and you will see rides, wrench parties, ect.  Be safe out there, God bless and again, welcome aboard.

Welcome to the best forum for Valkaholics and to the brother (and sister) hood.

Keep watching the forum for announcements on rides, wrench parties (where a bunch of us gather, eat, drink, supervise and make helpful comments as one or two guys work hard fixing things on their bikes), meetings (hey - meetings are like wrench parties!) and parts of our lives we share with our Valkyrie buddies.

With only 6 years of production, the Valkyrie is one of those iconic motorcycles where not everyone will have one.

In a large motorcycle gathering, you will be riding the beautiful fat swan among all the Harley Ducks and other v-twins.

A Valkyrie is supreme in her being and does not mark her territory as do other less confident machines.

And, you don't pick a Valkyrie - she picks you.

So, again, welcome!

Welcome!  Theres a few of us in your close vacinity, I'm in Lake Dallas, and more in the surrounding areas.  I've met some VRCC members while out of state on trips, and they were jealous of how active the Texas chapter is.

I'm dont know as much as some of the pro's around here, but I've done a good bit to the bike and can take most non engine stuff apart, and usually get it back together.  PM or Email me if you need anything.

Enjoy!

The hard copy of the service manual is handy to have - keeps the grease off the laptop - but, it's also nice to have it on your hard drive.

Here's the link to Dag's (pronounced Dog's) Valkyrie Norway website and his Downloadable Document Center.  You might want to remember or bookmark the links.  He has accumulated tons of useful and interesting information.

I just printed out Dag's version.  When it gets dirty, I put it in the recycling tub and print another.

Welcome!  I'm guessing you latched onto the one that was sitting at Cycle Center of Denton.

If you did scoop up that one from CCD, that was my neighbor's bike. Very nice, garage kept and lightly used for the past couple years. He's a mechanic by trade so it was maintained very well. He traded in 2 Valks and an ST1300 on a new Kawasaki Concours.
