I was just walkin thru the inside vendor area yesterday during the thunderstorms when I hear "OSS"

Its Sandy and CraigfromAz. Had never met them before but they have seen my secretary raid pics and recognized me  They were camping nearby but I never got to see them after that. Had a nice chat with them then turned the corner and met a Harley riding friend that i didnt know he was gonna be there, apparently to take the adv MSF course today. Also ran into PaulXX from Mass who said Buffalo Bill was there but didnt find him. Its a big place.

On my way out who bumps into me Crazy Miles and his very pretty wife Bev, then I go for ice cream on Canada Street and there is Mary from Ontario and her husband and Karen and her friends.  Had a gigantic prime rib dinner with a client and his friend who do wicked pinstriping but no pics sorry

Today I am walkin and bump into DalaiLama and Trudy and 3 friends from the NE chapter. They rode up 91 then across VT to walk around and get some bling for the bikes
Dalai took this pic of me and Trudy

I took this one of them

and then Boz who had just totalled oldyeller

Also met a member from Utica NY (sorry I forgot your name) who I met several times, I hate forgetting names, and introduced myself to a bunch of Valk riders including from the South Bronx He has my bike supervalked, with drilled out baffles and welded glasspacks  THAT WAS ONE SWEET SOUNDING VALKYRIE !! If he goes on this site here is the pic of you and your bike

When you ride a Honda you meet the nicest people, it seems to be true and many of them are Valkyrie riders

The highlight was the ride on the 6 cyl BMW   Wicked fast kick the Valks butt backward forward and sideways.  It is lower than the K1200lt, way faster and rides like my police bike on steroids.

link to pics  http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/photos/bmw-k1600gtl-motorcycle/6194#item=139961   I cant be sure but some of them had no trunk  I cant remember if mine did

At americade the rides are between 40 and 45 minutes thru the wood, highway and back roads so you can go outside your comfort zone. I had the bike up to 90 as did the whole group of 12 riders on a 3 mile stretch of the northway. All the while grooving to the Greatful Dead on the satellite radio Also rode the vision. but one without the trunk

The Vision lugged at 1st 2 gears but pulled nicely in 3,4 gear. 6th didnt have much acceleration power
Whoever posted that Bozo pic I couldnt get that one out of my mind the whole time I am riding

I wanted to ride one of these but the manufacturer was not there this year

Got pulled over for a speed appreciation award on the way up the Taconic but the trooper gave me a  ticket reads Defective Speedometer so no points  Sux because I wasnt going 71 like the trooper said but only what looked like 65 and we all know 65 on a Valk is 60..

Today rode to Fort Ticonderoga in perfect clear skies

here is the money shot

then went on my annual raid on Haymond's Secretaries. He only had one, business must be slow for him, maybe I need to find HIM some secretaries

then decided at 5 to head home and beat the rain that will pound all day tomorrow since FatherTime hadnt returned my calls on his Vt ride  Rick I got your message after I got home We'll hook up next year

No awards on the way home    police

Everyone ride safe this weekend and toast Oss and all who wish they could be with you.

Damn buddy, never realized you were gone.       LOL.

Like a bear sheets in the woods.   Yeah wwe were following some of your antics.

Glad ya had fun.     I made 1 Americade quite some years ago.     Left Lake George or what the hell ever it is called and rode straight through to Iowa.

My riding buddy, RIP Frank, got pised off about someting and wouldn't answer his CB to say when he wanted to stop.     I figured, okay Brother, I can play your game also.     That was the last time he got Pissed and staid that way very long on an trips after that.   From then on, if he got mad, we would go down the highway about 10 to 15 miles and he;d holler into the CB, ICE CREAM BREAK, that was his way of saying sorry, my bad.    LOL........

This is the map he kept of our trips and his wife and kids presented it to me at his funeral.   I had it put inside of a frame to preserve it.

Lots of miles we did together on that map.   This was a map of his and my trips only, none of his single trips, which were very few.    We rode together for about 30 years.

Oss

Enjoyed your ride report, when you spoke of your ride on the BMW and said

"The highlight was the ride on the 6 cyl BMW   Wicked fast kick the Valks butt backward forward and sideways.  It is lower than the K1200lt, way faster and rides like my police bike on steroids."

What do you have for a Police Bike?

I've been wanting to try the new BMW myself.

Thanks
Bill

I have an 04 1150 RT-P bought it from Hollywood motors off ebay and they got it from Santa Monica PD
I called the PD to verify that before I closed the deal.

Got it to have a winter bike and now its my regular commuter to the south bronx with its run flat tires, no dip suspension, ABS, heated grips and adjustable windshield the new bike has a kickass stereo, adjustable side vents, a place for footpegs besides the stock position and it is lower than the 1200 and the 4cyl Lt or at least it sure felt lower to me.

Here is the bike this winter at the croton dam.

If I had the lottery money I would snap the thing right up.  Maybe when the kids out of college I will get one and sell the 1150. The Valk aint goin nowhere

Here is the specs on the new bike which is 100 lbs lighter than my Valk and 65 more hp.

The engine displaces 1,649 cc, weighs a rather svelte 226 pounds and measures less than 22 inches in width. It produces 160 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque, while returning fuel economy as high as 50 miles per gallon on the highway, BMW said. The GTL weighs 708 pounds, while the GT is 33 pounds lighter.
