I was leaving the yard going to Cleburne to get loaded and head to Rosenberg, Tx this morning when I noticed a Yamaha Star with a CT.  I was trying to get his attention to talk with him but he took off the opposite way.  What other bikes out there go Darkside??  I have seen a Gold Wing, and of course the Valkyrie.

I think you'll find people running CT's across most makes...

Goldwings, Rocket III's, V2k's, VTX's, and Valks seem to be the most popular.

As Chris said, most of the large, shaft-drive cruisers are DS candidates.  I've even seen a chain-drive bike with one on it.

Despite all the negative hue and cry about the DS profile being "flat" or "square", the fact is that a hemispheric tread shape is a relatively recent trend adapted from the race track to sport bikes, and then to cruisers.   If you look at the rear tire of any HD Geezer Glide older than 2009, the rear tire is essentially a square profile -- narrow and square.  The same is true with the mid-70's Honda CBRs.

Darksiders know from experience that it's a concept that works, despite the nay-saying of theorists.

I'd like to go Darkside on my '77 vintage GL1000 Goldwing but I believe that the CT would have to be no wider than OEM M/C tire.  Shocked
Anyone knows what the equivalent CT size would be for OEM Size 130/90/17.  Undecided
