Is the riding posistion on a wing that much different than a Valkyrie? I have never ridden a wing but a guy  tells me that the riding position is the same as a sports bike. If that's tue, no wing for me! Smiley

I have an 1800 Wing and a Valkyrie Interstate. I think they're similar. I've never ridden a sport bike but they look very uncomfortable for an old man like me !!!  LOL....I'm soon to be 64.

Having had a 91 1500 GW and the Valk, as I remember they are similiar.  The new 1800 GW is somewhat different but I've never sat on one.

My present Vstrom suits me.  It's not a sport bike and that would be really uncomfortable for me since I guess that I'm REALLY, REALLY  old at 83. Grin

I rode an 1800 wing a few miles last fall. We all know they're good and fast and stuff...

But jumping off my Valkyrie onto the wing with its frame-mounted-fairing-filled-with-knobs-and-buttons
gave me the impression of a scooter  Smiley ... and the brakes flipped me out, I wasn't thinking about them
being linked... you touch just the rear brakes on your Valkyrie, and perhaps you can tell that you've done something,
touch just the rear brakes on a wing and you're fixing to come to a stop...

I could tell it would be nice after I got used to it. No bent-over crotch-rocket feeling at all...

On a Wing with all the Tupper Ware, I felt like I was boxed in.

My Tourer, I feel out in the breeze.

The riding position of a Wing and a crotch rocket are nearly identical.  See the photos below.

Rode Goldwings for many years and my feeling is that the Goldwing is the most comfortable ride on the market. That said, the Valkyrie is the most fun, all-around bike I ever owned.

I could sit funny on my Valkyrie like those guys too  Wink This is the most "normal" picture:

Crotch Rockets have those downturned three inch long handlebars that put your hands
down below your knees and keep you lying down on the gastank...

The wing lets you sit straight up, arms out on nice handlebars, they have backrests, you
can put highway pegs on them...

A backrest on a crotchrocket would be like a screendoor on a submarine.

I'd probably get a yellow one  cooldude

I've owned both goldwings and valkyrie - the riding positions are very similar and nothing like the ducati sport bike I rode last year - my feet felt like they were behind me on the sport bike

While I have a 31" inseam, I can say my 97 Tourer was a piece of cake to ride while my 01 I/S had more comfort and storage, was a bit top heavy.
I have to admit my (new to me) 2008 Wing fits the bill. Love the reverse, wind management, factory electronics and even though it looks HUGE.........it's easy to flick around.
If I did a Valkyrie again though..............it would be a Tourer

Miss that RED and WHITE 97

Those people had their full gear on with knee pads and were probably on a test track. Bet it would look the same on a Valk in that same riding position. Yeah my big belly would be all over the gas tank on one of those crotchrockets and with the rear jacked up so high my passenger wouldn't have to worry about falling off!!  2funny 2funny
