I did it about 5 years ago.  Works great and no issues with the company.

That is the best single safety upgrade I have made to mine.

I love having additional red running and brake lights, while keeping turn signals yellow.

I have talked friends into the mod on their bikes, and even helped them do it.

Go for it.

First thing I did when I got my Tourer, not enough light back there for me. Used the Signal Dynamics conversion kit to do mine. Also added the double/high-low LED license plate lights, works fine.

I use the Kisan SignalMinder, which not only cancels the turn signals automatically, but turns the turn signals into running lights and gives me four-way flashers for emergencies. Their VectraLights also plug into the SignalMinder to give me turn signals on my mirrors. I've had them on for four years with no complaints.

I did mine with a trailer wiring harness adapter.  Think I found the instructions on Rattlebars website.

Firstly, it sound slike there is more than one conversion out there for this kind of thing. I was also thinking of the 4-way flasher mode, put if I recall, I hadn't heard anyone here recommend someone yet.

Standard, Tourer and Interstate.  Also Chet's 4 way flashers.  Both work great.  I used the kit from Electrical connection that fit on the bulb itself with a rubber grommet.  Some of their kits are stuck inside the fixture behind the bulb.

Yes, there are lots of different conversions.  There are kits that add LED for the lamps.  There are modifications involving resistors and diodes.  And one can replace the rear turn signal stalks with front stalks and then use a dual element bulb.

As a general rule, if you convert the turn signals to running lights, they should appear to be red and not amber.  The turn signals may be amber or red.  Brake lights should be red or amber.

I added this LED bar from Electrical Connectiom, mounted above license plate, below taillight. It has running & brake & it is bright.

Available with clear or red lens

I got one several (two? three?) years ago. I never got around to installing it, though there's good instructions that come with it,
and there's more good instructions over at bigbf:   http://bigbf.com/bigbf_shop/rear_turn_signal_kit/

The way that LEDs keep getting better every year, I'm afraid that the two-or-three year old one I have won't be as good
as a new one.

Always install your stuff right after you get it  cooldude

I am in the process of stripping all OEM rear lights. I removed the entire lic plate OEM assembly and the main light fixture at the top.
The custom license plate bracket is now bolted into the depressed area where the OEM rear-main light fixture resides.  Undecided

The wiring behind the OEM light fixture still provides the wiring for running and stop lights.
It tucks in nicely behind the license plate.

The remaining holes are taped over with "Trim Tape." When done with the mods, I'll have the fender tail smooth out and repainted to match...

The small rectangular running lights above the OEM license plate are now mounted above the new license plate location.  coolsmiley
The signals are now coming from the saddlebag lights.

For brake lights I purchased two 9" led strips which can be placed virtually anywhere on the bike...
no screws, just 3M tape. I placed mine vertically, along the rear fender starting down from the bottom of the license plate.

They come in 15" and 9" long stripes. Either pair is $15.99. I purchased mine with Red bulbs, but they come in different colors...
(White, Blue, Amber, etc...).

I purchased them at one of the popular chain auto parts... not Pep Boys, not Kragen... err... Senior Moment in progress!  Embarrassed

My $0.02.
