Does anyone know the manufacturer of the Valk radiator fan.......just looking to try to source one before they become a issue. The failure rate is very low due to low run time demands......but everything sooner or later fails....

Good question, I've wondered that too. I would actually like to come up with a fan blade that will pull more air. Muzzy has built a few for some sport bikes.

I'm not sure that mine even runs, I am concerned since I have just acquired a 22 year old motorcycle. Granted the temps here are still rather chilly, I would like to test the fan before the temps start to climb, never owned a bike with no gauges. LOL

There is a way to test whether the fan works. If I remember correctly, you need to ground one of the wires. Hopefully someone that knows better will speak up.

Roger that, I reckon I could also take it for a ride and then let it idle for a bit, I assume the fan kicking on would be very obvious? I had a Kawasaki Concours 1400 and that bad ass girl had dual fans, sounded like a helicopter taking off when they kicked on. LOL

Don't let your bike sit around idling on a cool April day so long that the pipes discolor... -Mike "I bet it will turn on in July "

Even as hot as it gets here, mine doesn't usually come on until I'm stopped at a light. Even at 128* if I'm moving over 30 mph the fan stays off.

And, yes, it is unmistakable when it comes on.

The radiator fan should run when you ground the thermal switch wire.

A fan crapping out is pretty rare. Does anyone remember a fan going out? I can't.

No, I've only heard of the thermal switch issues. And I think those were only related to the '97's.

There are a few complete fans available at Pinwall. I just picked up a used radiator complete with fan for $120 with shipping. I lucked out as the rad looks brand new inside and outside. The fan runs whisper quiet.
