Just saw "Think Floyd", a Pink Floyd tribute band at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater.  They played all of Dark Side of the Moon, and did a good job.  Took some artistic leeway with some of the instrumentals, but stayed with the general flow of the album.  Would see them again.   cooldude

That's one of the best from an amazingly good and amazingly creative band. From the "Great Gig in the Sky" to "Careful With That Axe Eugine" this is an amazing band.

Gotta disagree with you Chillerman.  I think there were three incarnations of Pink Floyd.

The Sid Barrett Pink Floyd.
The Roger Waters Pink Floyd.
And the group Pink Floyd.  All three were great in their own way.

I heard after his death that the band had been paying Sid Barrett royalties from all of the albums they recorded after he had to leave.  Awesome gesture!  JMHO

I agree,One of if not the best group of all time . I think David Gilmour was the energy in the Floyd and maybe the best guitarist there has ever been! I have recently seen both The Machine & Aussie Floyd tribute shows, both are worth checking out., coolsmiley but my fav album was Pulse, cooldude

I like most everything Pink Floyd has done, but I think the latest/current(?) group with David Gilmour is the best. I agree with Dino that Gilmour was the energy, the voice and the guitar of Pink Floyd. Treat yourself to the boxed set "Live at Gdansk", filmed at the Gdansk Shipyards on the 20th anniversary of Solidarity's founding.

Try to find the five-disc version (which was sold only thru Best Buy) and which contains lots of bonus material. It has three CD's and two DVD's
