I'm having a problem with my 1983 Nighthawk 750.

I noticed that the low beam was burning dim.

After replacing the bulb the problem was still there.

I discovered that the high beam and low beam filaments are both burning when it's on low.

I've inspected the high/low switch and the wiring harness and they both look good.

I thought that maybe I have a bad headlight relay, but if this bike has one I can't find it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas....................

sounds like a ground problem to me .If you have a voltmeter it's an easy way to test it.put your neg. lead on the batt. neg. and the pos lead on the grd terminal of the head lamp.A reading of more than .1 to.2 volts shows trouble an open circuit may show 12volts.Oh the lamp should be on during these tests. If you don't have a good meter try running a wire from bat.neg to lamp grd terminal and see if your lamp gets brighter.
