I put one on a few weeks back and have noticed the bike seems to run hotter, fan kicks on more often, etc.  I'm thinking it may not be all it's cracked up to be and I should go back to the OEM cap. Had anyone ever used one with the same problem? I checked the fluid and it's not low, but it's definitely running hotter than before.

I have commented before that those thing just give you more trouble and worry. Throw that thing away!  And it must be your imagination about that cap making your bike run hotter. See, all it does is make you worry about stuff.  Throw it away!

John, I've got two of them. One works perfect the other won't allow the coolant to return to the radiator as it cools. After a few hot/cool cycles the radiator is low, but the reservoir is too full. Yours may not be sealing well enough to create pressure. They're made in China so quality control is lacking.

I had one and it started leaking in the gauge. Someone in a thread about them said they got sprayed. My concern was driving down the road and getting sprayed with hot antifreeze.

I guess I've been lucky or maybe I got an early batch, but I've had them on both Valks for over a year  without any problems. I do carry my original caps with me just in case.

I'll hang it on the wall over the bench, maybe it will keep track of the temp in the shop. It may not be the cause of running hotter, but it coincidentally started when I put it on. The next ride will tell, it just hasn't been that hot here yet to cause this. In fact it hardly ever kicked the fan on before during the summer months except in extremely long stop & go traffic.

John, I had one on my bike too and took it off after a few months... I thought mine was running hotter too... I just tossed it in my tool box and haven't ever thought about it again. Good Luck!
