Hey Ghillie, Sorry bout the delay in response to your request.  Did not get your message til last night. My phone has been on the blink.  Dropped it on the parking lot at the post office and a person (aka non-US citizen driving a four primer colored pickup) went out of his way to run over it and then laughed because he did it.  Probably a good thing I was not in arm's reach or I would be in jail.  But I digress.  The bike shop I use for my Valk is Xander's Cycles in Forney.  The owners name is Brent Kelly (once an employee of the major Honda stealership in Dallas at Greenville and 635).  His phone # is 972-552-1850.  I have no interest in this other than he has always performed extra services when I take my bike in and does so at no charge.  He is very reasonable in his prices and knows the Valk inside and out.  He fixed Joe's fuel mileage problem even after two wrench parties could not figure it out!!!  However, he does not get in a hurry so don't plan on same day service.  He has always done me right and I recommend him to others.  Hope this info helps. L

Disco, It was exactly what you and Valkpilot suggested.  The dealership that installed his Cobras and supposedly matched the carb settings for the new exhaust had the needles set 3 clips too rich. Even the pipes were "sooting" up (if that is a word) because of the excess fuel in the carbs.  Leaned all six of those bad boys (or girls) out and she runs like a top and is back to the 30-32 mpg where she ought to be.  Thanks for your input and suggestions. Brent went completely through the carbs, tore them down, cleaning, resetting the needles, syncing, and testing.  $175.00 and guaranteed the better mileage or he would redo the job.  Can't beat that.  I was pleased.

Excellent report.  Glad it worked out and Joe's bike is back to normal.  $175.00 with a guarantee is a great deal.

I'll second the  cooldude for Xander Cycles... I had him replace the front fork seals for me recently...

$200, IMHO, considering the work involved, was a MORE than fair price...

Word of warning though, especially for Daniel - He WASHED the bike too!!! Scared me when I picked her up...
